Could be Alex Notman...Played for United in the league cup 1/4 final against spurs when utd lost 3-1. (the game ginola scored from bout 30 yards bottom corner wit his left foot). came on after 72minutes.
born in Edinbirgh, he's 26, moved to aberdeen then sheffield utd, then Norwich! currently has no club! He is a strikerNotman is a class player. I'd be delighted if it was him. Doubt it though:(.

This was posted on the chat board of elevenaside.com by a Rovers fan:

sligo are signing poor players keith foy and some lad from derby keep the quality signings coming, i really hope sean would try and get some quality player but no good players want to sign for us, murphy rejected us for galway and we cant even get chris breen from harps not looking good, at this rate we’ll be relegated by july

mark:rolleyes:, This guy obviously knows nothing about either signing and already he's making stupid judgements:mad:.

gustavo
17/12/2005, 7:18 PM
well that guy from derby could be crap

sligoman
17/12/2005, 7:25 PM
well that guy from derby could be crapYeah, but so could any other player in the team. He's putting Turner down without giving him a chance, he hasn't even played a game for us yet like:rolleyes:

Either that or he's a big gaelic buff who went to 1or2 games at the end of last season!

there were a few buffs around at the end of the season.
It was like Old Trafford with people who just go to the matchs to say they were there

i'd be surprised if chris turner isn't one of the best right backs in the division.

this mark guy obviously doesn't have a clue&i wud pass no heed of the **** he wrote there

still thinking the offer over

connor mentioned how previous players always thought the grass was greener on the other sides and then when they sign for them they realize it isnt

i hope raf doesnt make this mistake and go to harps or galway or anyone for that matter....if he does its a huge blow

i suppoz we'll just have to wait and see how he did in england this wk. never looked forward to getting the champion as much ;)Don't bother getting it. Not much about Rovers really this week.

Basically just Foy saying how he's glad he joined and Sean is glad he's joined etc. and Carlos is coming back for pre-season training in January to try and convince Sean that he deserves another contract. He'll be making his debut for the Bolivian under-23's soon and he want's to come back to us, so we'll have to wait and see if Sean will take him back or not:).

Robbie Kelleher is been linked with us according to a Limerick fan on their forum. He'd definitely be a good signing in my opinion.

In today's Star, Faz and Chris Turner are being linked with a move to Linfield. They haven't signed any contract with us yet(just agreed terms) so are free to move if they want:(.

I seen him in the 0-0 game last season and he skint 2 or 3 defenders and curled one off the bar!! he dosn't score alot for a striker though and that was in the first division!!?

With both McCann and Low gone we seriously need a good left back. I wonder has Sean any ideas on who he'll get?. I sincerely hope he does....

Keith Foy is a left back.

sligoman
02/01/2006, 11:38 PM
Keith Foy is a left back.I know, but we are taking an awful big risk on him as it is. If we go into the season with only him for the left back position then I'd be worried.

gustavo
02/01/2006, 11:45 PM
well i do think that if we do get another left back it will be as cover for foy rather than vice versa.

i'm sure we will sign back up but i'd say connor has total faith in foy&seanie kelly's there too in caes of emergency plus raf could prob turn out to be best left back in the country if we're stuck

I think Connor has a lot of faith in Foy. The way he persued him and made him a great offer shows the faith and I think Keith will repay him for that. Keith is a loyal type of bugger.

i'd be more worried about getting a centre back than a left back at this stage

Is there any chance of Heffernan signing from Waterford?

gustavo
04/01/2006, 1:41 PM
I'd love it but i cant see it happening really seeing as Waterford are in the Prem. we badly need a right back then a couple of midfielders a centre back and a striker :(

He was in Sligo celebrating with the team that night and I asked him about coming back and he said "Ah, I don't know, we'll see;)". He winked after saying that:D.
