relegation is hotting up.
Hill to play Park in shannon (next thrusday unless T Lynch gets it off) and granville sometime.
Charleville to play Park in shannon ,
Park to play Pike.
Park need a point to be safe. Charlivlle need 3 to be safe or 1 for a minimum a play off.
Hill need all 6 to force a play off.
If the ldmc had brains they would play Hill anbd Granville and hope relegation is settled and forget the rest of the games.

yes, even though i wouldn't be an admirer of pike as a club, well done to them on keeping their nerve to almost certainly win the first Fran Mullally trophy. Its a fitting tribute to the man, who was liked by all.
also well done to Colm Enright who scored some vital goals when Pike needed them most !
it could be all over on sunday if carew don't beat regional

Lets see how this year finishes yet. Give teams a chance.
Only one team promoted from 1a and one team relegated from premier.
I sometimes wonder about the postings on this site. Talk about jumping ahead of yourself !!
As for your post on the pitches - This is amateur football. Most clubs are doing there best. Just look at the work done in recent times by Park, Charleville, UL and Granville to mention a few. Those clubs are putting money into improving facilities this has to be commended. As you know the weather in Ireland is hardly ideal for trying to keep surfaces perfect in the Winter..
its two promoted and two relegated no?
I agree it takes a lot of work and money and those involved have to be commended but as happy zapper said if you want a better standard of soccer than its something that needs improvement

I agree, congrats Pike.
Balla's attempt to scuttle Pike's chances by throwing a game to carew must go down as one of the lows of this season, this coupled with the carew manager asking clubs to influence games in an attempt to win the league does not say much for either club.

Sorry my post should have been clearer. only one one promoted and one relegated so far. Its two up and two down.
My point on Happy Zappers post was more about the teams he thinks will be being relegated next year. Lets get this year out of the way first.
I agree, congrats Pike.

Have to agree. These two clubs have let themselves down, between last season and this season, doing favours for each other. Rivalry is a good thing but lets keep things fair, otherwise this league that we love to take part in will just be a joke.

BET YOU COUNCIL WILL REPLAY MATCH....
The Council will hear both sides and then decide on the matter, there are always two sides to any story, If you look at the results it states that the LDMC need to make a decision.

regional should get the walkover, simple as that. If one team turns up with 8 players and can't field a team then that should be a walkover. Whats the bet they'll leave the decision til after thursday night

They can indeed, Charleville are an absalout joke, not turning up for a league game with nothing to play for you might just get away with that, but not turning up for a cup game, they should be banned from entering the Touhy for 2-3 seasons.

Indeed well done to Pike, although the last few weeks of the league have been a bit of a farce!
The situation with Carew on Sunday morning with Regional a perfect example, a team still in with a shout of the league (outside shout) turning up with 8 players and then blaming the Boro groundsman for not having their pitch lined and the goals up and giving that as the reason the game cannot go ahead!
Regional offered to play out in Dooradoyle but suprisingly Carew turned this request down!
If this is the petty rubbish that exists in the Premier not to mention the "phone calls" different managers have made in the last few weeks then whats the point? Will Regional get a walkover? I doubt it and nobody will be surprised!
Hope Charleville get relegated too!

Carew Never Told The Boro That They Had A Match On Sunday.. The Last Thing That The Boro Was Told By Carew Was On Last Tuesday Night, They Told The Boro That The Match On Thursday V View Was Off. The Boro Groundsman Only Lives At The Corner. He Has Been Phoned On Sunday Mornings Before For Stupid Things..(where Are The Corner Flags?, In Dressing Room).... Nobody From Carew Phoned Or Called To The Groundsman,i Spoke To Boro Lads Pitch Was Lined ( Very Worn) Could Have Been Redone In About Ten Mins... The Sooner They Get Their Own Grounds The Better.

they told Regional and Dave Weldrick that the groundsman's phone was ringing out!! It is not the responsibility of Janesboro to have the pitch ready for games, it was a Carew Park home fixture so the pitch having the pitch ready for games is their responsibilty even if it mean walking to the house at the corner!!

reddan brought nothing to the table for carew or the oscar traynor this year.
why was he picked for the oscar traynor job in the first place - maybe old keeper could answer that one?
oconnor would be a very good manager imo he knows the game and knows how it should be played - it is a different story getting the carew lads to do it but if he does I would have to fancy carew for the league. Unless he goes to pike next year and this is just another rumour.

If JOC goes to pike, they will have to change they way that they play. that might be a positive thing. boro and carew both played wide men(lawlor, conway, whelan, bob) who could provide top quality crosses for joc. having watched pike 3 times this year they dont realy play wide men. they seem to prefer strenght at the back, the position game and then to strike from set pieces. it seems to be working for them. bet he would get a pile of goals with any team if they play to his many strenghts

as i have already stated, carew with the squad they had at their disposal should definitely have won something this year.
how many trophies have they thrown away over the years? fai, muns jun, premier leagues etc !
don't know how good martin reddan is but i would say that there is not a manager in western europe that could manage that motley crew.
maybe its time for one of there so called stalwarts to take over and give it a go as a lot of them are either at the end or coming to the end of their fruitless careers !

He may not go up there but one thing is for sure, IF he did he would score a lot more goals than all the strikers Pike have done so far this season put together.
JOC is a class act, ask any defender in town "including Colm Enright" who they most hate playing against and the majority of them would say JOC.

lawlor and conway dont play anymore? bob can barely cross his legs these days. joc drops short and either plays in wide behind the defence or short to a midfielder. I do agree with you that if he was fed with quality ball he would score alot more.

will alan barry stay with the boro next year?
so no one knows the outcome of the meeting last night. I suppose carew got away with it, what a ridiculous situation.
JOC wouldn't do any better than the forwards pike already have, he can barely run, so I don't think the big pike field would exactly suit him. Ask jason when was the last time he scored up there for example. He's been a very good player but he's well past his best. Pike need someone else a Davy Wall maybe.

there are some people on this site that are simpley just pigs none of ye know anything about carew park so dont be going around spreading ridiclous rumours. there is no compaint gone in about carew park thats a fact. as for match fixing balla resting there players for a lawson cup game again pike what has that got to do with carew park. there are some very serious rumours flying around this site and someone will land up in trouble over it. as for redden ringing managers for the three points well thats just lies full stop not even worth adding to that rumour. and by the way it was the regional manager that came up to redden after an oscar trainer match and said in his owe words that if ye need points off us for the league ye will have no hassel there that was his owe words and there was two carew park players plus another three people there for a withness. so for match fixing maybe regional should be f****** out of the league. as for football matters congrats to pike IMO they deserved it whats another year as they say

But the ldmc remind me of the head pigs in Animal Farm..." all pigs are equal, but some pigs are more equal than others" Having had dealings with this bunch(they are not all bad) i have to agree with some of the posts on this thread.. if you vote for the right people you can bassically pick your matches, avoid suspensions and cancel matches.... i dont blame all of the ldmc but there are a few people who run it as a favour club...

So why were Pike looking for him to sign at the start of the season then?
Lets face it I have nothing against Pikes forwards but if you asked any of the rest of their squad (except their strikers) who they would prefer up front between "Pa Moloney, Dainis Bokans, Skinner, Nabs or JOC it would be JOC every time.
All I am saying is that it would make Pike a far better team if they had a half decent striker!!!!
Just curious.....Who out of Pikes strikers has the most goals this season and how many have they got?? (thats not being sarcastic its a genuine question)

Its obvious that the LDMC are waiting on the outcome of tonights games before they decide their own outcome of the Carew Pk v Regional game (in all fairness its the only decision out of all last weeks games that hasnt been sorted yet)
And dont use that excuse of them waiting on a refs report, how long does it take for a ref to hand in a 2 or 3 line report, stating that Carew Pk couldnt field a team and Regional were ready to play.
Pike win the league tonight and all the pressure is off the LDMC about making a decision as nobody will care the outcome of the Carew Pk V Regional game.
The LDMC just dont have the balls to make the big calls and its as simple as that.
