I can confirm that they played a full team and still had to struggle. They're learning fast that being champs means every team gives it welly against you.

Sorry, you are dead wrong. I'm not a Westport man. I just have an interest in local soccer with no affiliation to any soccer club. This is a forum on FAI Junior Cup, not a spat on foot.ie forumites. If you have nothing constructive to add besides attacking the poster, I think you ought not to add anymore contributions to the site. Assuming that people are from a certain town is never a good idea and it is a worse idea that it appears in print. Ever hear of Libel Laws?

I'm sure that the PRO of Westport United might have given a reaction on that if he seen the post. Given the fact that you are querying his position, he must have known nothing about this rumour. Pike or balla should do well in the comp and carew will want to go one better than last year. ULAA will do well in the comp also, they have a solid squad put together of late and will take beating. Mungret and Star not so sure about but fair play for getting this far.

Yeah they beat us down there in the 2nd round 2-1 after extra time. We were down a few the same day and were a little unlucky not to have at least gone to penalties.

2 pitches and dressing rooms and a good set-up in general. Good club and we were well looked after down there after the game. A guy called Noel Brosnan is the main man and a very nice guy.

As regards their team they will again be missing thier best player. Center half David Hayes is cup tied as he plays for the Kerry U21 League of Ireland team.

They are solid enough throughout and work hard. Best players against us was left sided midfielder. Seemed a good skillful player and caused us a lot of trouble in the 1st half. One or 2 foreign players too and 1 of them was decent around midfield. He scored a good winner in extra time for them.

Red-headed striker will ensure nothing comes out of defence easy too and throws himself about well.

Newtown have nothing to fear though in my eyes and should be well capable of winning down there even without Davy Wall.

Corrib rangers do not have all L.O.I. players with them......they nearly got relegated last year and brendan has turned them around in his first season as a player/manager and all he has brought in including himself is 4 players

They will be a good bet to beat Westport this sunday

I think Brendan will be a future Galway Utd manager and hes still only 27 and still good enough to play L.O.I. going by the way he is playing this season

Any info on Avenue United (from Clare), we have them Sunday in the FAI...

Strong at the back, strong in midfield but not particularly mobile, nippy wide men & like to play a big man up front. They're a decent side & doing well in the clare league. Difficult to break down & some nice players going forward.
Quite dangerous from set pieces. Ye played moher earlier in the season....
well they got relegated from the Premier while Avenue won it! So they are a big step up from Moher.

How about Killarney Celtic, we are playing them on Sunday?
