Great stuff Parrott.

The only positive here is the goal has given us a real root up the hole

Great work from Parrott

We've gotten much worse defensively under Kenny
Without actually getting better in any other area
And yet our strongest area is defence

That goal shows how bad they and we are.

Could see us going on to win this 3-1 or so but I wouldn't be entirely upset if Kenny got the sack just for the first half performance and that goal.

How do you miss that

It was like Parrot suddenly realized the level of opposition he was facing.

Awful miss from Curtis

Even worse than the miss from that stupid fake Curtis in the first half...

There's not much Kenny can do when he has dog€hit like Curtis & Collins playing upfront. Good finish by young parrot

There we go. The players seem to suddenly realise losing to Andorra doesn't just reflect badly on the manager.

Ha! Take that Andorra!

All this is quite predictable. Stephen Kenny making Steve Staunton look like he was the best manager of all time.

I think Staunton gets a bad rep. Yes, he started off very poorly. But after that, I thought his teams did quite well. The last game against Cyprus was a dead rubber, even if it was not great. His actual win/draw/lose rate is exactly the same as Martin O'Neill's record.

Parrott rolling back the years. Fair play.

That right there is a player with character and that’s been hard to find the last few weeks, take a bow Troy!

That should do Parrott the world of good.

Curtis & Collins woeful again.

He could, you know, pick some different players instead.

Player quality goes out the window when you are playing Andorra.

Connolly and Idah have been fairly toothless in previous games in fairness. Options are poor

Germany games, Italy, Austria, taking the lead against future finalists and World champions in Euros.

No comparison with Stan and O’Neill

Is taking the lead against superior opposition seen as a positive? In which case Andorra are a great side yeah?
Good to see McGrath coming on-hope he does well.

Positives are that Parrott and Knight score. Negative is that Kenny stays on for another match.

A reprieve for Kenny, and important it isn't seen as more than that. Let's see how they get on against Hungary.

That happens in football. Sure, Turkey only beat Andorra 1-0 in the 89 minute a few years ago.

The bad performances all add up though.

And that was a performance as awful as the result. I think Kilbane's goal on 50 minutes was our first effort on target

Yep there's little to see or suggest bar parrot really and Andorra dying off an the pressure putting on us dropped. We did have better crosses going in in the second half. But that's the little I saw improve.

We've got much worse defensively especially set pieces under Kenny.

Not sure we learned anything from that game tbh. Next game is make or break despite it being a friendly.

Our defense can’t be excused as it’s one of the areas we actually have good players in.

All add up? After that 5-2 defeat, the team lost 1 match in his last 12 matches. I think many Irish supporters would take that now!

We learned I can call the part-timer impact :D

Andorra concede a significant amount of their goals in the last half hour - not surprising if they're mostly part-time - so there's hope for a win yet
But yeah, Hungary won't tire after an hour and where will that leave us?

And Portugal will have us tired after an hour...

The two games against Cyprus and the win in San Marino were three of the worst performances I can remember. That's a lot in an 18-month period for a team that included some genuinely top class players. (The 4-0 home defeat against Holland wasn't great either, but it was a friendly and Holland can do that to you at times)

I agree we had some good results too.

What results were good under Stan? 1-1 at home to Czech the best I can remember.

Drew with Germany too.

4-0 away to Denmark was notable, even if it was a friendly.

1-0 home wins and 2-2 away draws against Wales and Slovakia were decent enough.

One win in 12 against the part-timers of Andorra is not in any real sense appreciably better than the previous no wins in 11. Especially when the performance was as bad as the one we all just witnessed.

Nice to get a win albeit Andorra. Wonderful to see Parrot notch two and Knight score. Hopefully they can build on it. Bazunu, Cullen, Parrott, Horgan did okay. Central defense will have better days. Poor game from J Collins, Hourihane, McClean and Curtis. Knight is not a winger despite his excellent assist, playing him out wide does him a disservice. Disappointing to see Duffy and Arter come on ahead of younger players at the end. Hopefully this will inject some confidence into the Irish side. Let’s see what happens vs Hungary

Desperate desperate stuff for an hour against a team 111 places below us in the rankings. That the team finally pulled their individual and collective heads from their arses is not much to celebrate.

Teams like Andorra are so bad that it's hard to take any positives from games even when you play well, but hey, at least we won, Parrott broke his duck, no injuries.
