As generic kits go that's a beauty

Yeah that's a nice one. Can imagine us using the same template.

Its definitely one of the best kits I have seen in a long long while! It seems like a signal of intent that they are going to get promoted and they dont want Dundalk standing on their toes!

think the colouring of the blue on the shirt for the crest ruins it for me imo.

Nice shirt by Shels that. Very retro.

If they did an away version in sky blue it'd sell like hotcakes in Dublin.

Dublin City FC business model summed up nicely there!

Why have they not got a sponsor?

Nesta99
28/10/2019, 12:26 PM
Good question but it is a shame that such a jersey will be basically ruined by a sponsor! Assuming that Umbro use a similar template for a new Dundalk jersey think the big Fyffes oval logo slapped on.

The jerseys sold to the public won't have the DCU sponsor logo but understandably the players shirts on the pitch will, also probably be plastered with other sponsors on the back and the sleeves

Des Kelly back as jersey sponsors for all Bohs teams. New jersey with club crest as Gaeilge looks great.

Have to agree the Dundalk kit is a poor effort,

Will be curious to see what version of green and white hoops is launched Saturday for us

Dundalk’s is terrible. Such a lazy effort, it’s just a rehash of a Bohs away jersey from a few years ago.

Like most clubs, Bohs face a constant battle every season between being in the red or being in the black :D

New City Adidas kit on presale from this morning

I didn't like the mockups over the last few weeks but I think I like the actual jersey. Not 100% sure, think I need to see it in the flesh to make up my mind.

The sleeve design will divide people, some will not like it. However, I like to see clubs take risks and try something new. Personally, I think it looks quite nice.

The 'A City Rising' campaign around it all is good. Basically acknowledges that last season was sh'ite, and that things are going to get better. Rather than just pretend last year didn't happen.

Rovers new home kit.

Nesta99
29/11/2019, 1:36 PM
Rovers, Shels, Drogs have all got it right it seems from the general reaction of fans. Plain, no fuss, no motifs, just a simple jersey with club colours. If Dundalk had just gone with a plain white with black trim shirt the vast majority would have been happy. The more popular of the retro shirts either would have been acceptible. Cork's shirt is fine but for the unnecessary addition to the sleeve. The late 80s early 90s were the worst for messing with shirt designs but to some extent this his happened again in recent seasons. It's no coincidence that former jerseys that remained popular were the ones that werent jazzed up in some way!

Dundalk sold just over 1000 new tops in the xmas period of 2015, when CX launched the 3 stripe version.

Unless the current one is a hit with the younger market, I can see this being the worst sales figures since the club starting selling replica tops.

Its nothing less than a T-Shirt, and I’ve hardly heard anyone say they like it, almost unbelievable by the club just going ahead with this, of course no time now to change, but they should have taken note of the reaction and maybe tried another one, kept this for Europe or so.

Hopefully it will not last beyond 2020.

Rovers one much better effort by Umbro, (as most other LOI ones are) but I don’t like the all green sleeve.

Thats a fair point as in the past there were a number of templates were available and a small survery of fans opinion was taken before a final decision. When CX+ became kit supplier it stopped as basically their gear was at minimum not a disaster. Prior there wasnt much of a choice but at least opinions were sought. The figures will speak for themselves in due course and maybe next year fans might get a say - wouldnt make difference to cost!

There is so much wrong with the new kit, looks far too small in size terms for a start, heard there is no tricolour either on the back of it, have yet to see it in the flesh but hopefully this is a one season effort.

The Umbro training / polo tops look ok though, price dependent, hopefully sales of the replica top will dictate it will be pulled after one season.

An easy solution would be to introduce a better euro top version, then keep it !

The warrior kit was simmilar but a lighter shade of green. Not much you can do with green and white hoops though.

New kit has a pattern on it you can't see in the other photo I posted

Nesta99

Te pattern is subtle but I still wonder why kit suppliers bother with the extra 'fuss'. The vast majority of fans just want pretty much plain club colours. Certainly going on comments here the likes of Shels straight forward kit is favoured and Dundalk's effort is awful and few Dundalk fans would disagree - I have yet to speak to anyone who likes the Dundalk effort.

Dundalk will be sending those involved in this kit decision out to Nurnberg for a trial anyway.

I get LOI clubs getting the short straw on templates but Nurnberg, who'd have a much bigger fanbase than any LOI team, should really feel shortchanged by that.

The Rovers kit is OK. Not particularly good but probably not awful. Maybe it looks better up close.

CX+(Horseware) never produced a decent shirt for DFC and i was lonely on Twitter calling them out for that for years.(poor me,anyone who disagrees - show me a good one they done?)
UMBRO enter and near every DFC fan has an epileptic fit about the new one lol.
Typical fcuking dundalk

I liked all the Dundalk CX+ kits last year. The CX+kits in the first year were poor, in my opinion.

Ourselves, Rovers and Bohs are winning this season.

I don't get the opprobrium for Dundalk's tbh.

Sure it loks like a Bohs away kit.

Very similar to the "V" template that Umbro were using back in 2012/13.

Yeah for a limited period apparently. Presumably they are wrapping up a new sponsor. Pepper was a two year deal signed in 2017. Honestly the jersey is an absolute cracker.

It wouldnt be the first Dundalk based company to sponsor/help finance a Dublin club if it was to be Boylesports. While Dundalk seem well settled with Fyffes there were seasons a large brand like Boylesports would have been appreciated.

I just do not get the need for the additional fuss on a shirt. I know ive said it dozens of times yearly but added motifs like here around the neck ruins the shirt imo especially when the Umbro and Club badges overlap the 'traingles' in an unbalanced way. The saving grace is that the sponsor does fit well. The last and probably only shirt that had that background shading that seemed to work was the old RoI kit from 1990 (?) World Cup but maybe Im swayed on nostalgia in that regard.
