Some display by Coachford up in Kilmore Rd lads. New kids on the block!! Played Knocka off the park, way fitter and faster. Knocka had man sent off at 2-0 which quenched any hope of a come back. Very disappointed with Knocka, 1st time seeing them this season, expected much more.

Poor result for the so called best side in the AUL. Surely only matter of time before Coachford go MSL too have the set up and the underage structure look to have the players now.

What a draw in the AOH quarter final Coachford v Glen Celtic. Has to be the tie of the round. Presume Coachford will be favourites after their result v Knocka and being at home.

A great tie of course it all depends on the ref to be honest it's getting beyond a joke with some of them has to be Richard Murphy or Tom macarty.there the pick of a bad bunch.

The result depends on the referee ??? Not at all. Too many people constantly looking for excuses and the referee is the easiest to blame. Ray Murphy reffed and did very well the Knocka v Coachford game. Had no option with sending off and put up with some abuse for it. Him. Richie Murphy, John Thompson , Trevor Cotter , Timmy Kelleher, all good refs and plenty more adequate guys out there. Dont know much about the Tom Macarty fella. Ive seen fellas on the line for some clubs on to the ref from the first decision, they are the problem not the ref.

Not the result but the occasion making sure the quality of Both side s is seen and not the ref...there all inconsistent is it any wonder they get abuse making smart remarks to players during games to mention 1 .

Jesus Lads, it was Ciara last week and looks like Dennis this week will cause another wash out. Presume Coachford will go to an all weather for the game v Regional. Wont want it moved to Limerick.

You'd have to fancy Regional over Coachford regardless of where this game is played

Well done to Coachford again! Seem to be the top side in the AUL now, beat the Glen 3-0 this morning in the AOH Cup. Caught the 2nd half ( 1-0 half time with not a lot between the teams im told) and to me the gap in speed and fitness was the major difference. Too many Glen guys out on their feet after an hour and Coachford youngfellas full of running. Still some good players with the Glen who are still a decent side but remind me a lot of Knocknaheeny and Coachford beat them 3-0 up the northside recently too. Can see why Coachford have gone far in the munster junior cup now. This team could dominate AUL for some time unless they decide to go Senior League. An AOH might swing it.

Dead on their feet thats a bit harsh ..to be honest you got to credit all at coachford and they have eyes on senior.

Where will the exodus stop out of the AUL? You say Coachford are going senior and apparantly Innisvilla are gone end of season with their 2 teams. Thats 2 more gone from the Premier League and 3 altogether. Numbers and quality declining every year.

Thats a big change but are the aul brave enough..it's just might be the move that saves there organisation and it needs saving zero chalange to be honest.

What’s people’s preference, call the leagues cups as nul and void for this season start as normal in August or finish everything out and have it impact on next seasons start date? Assuming lock down is lifted and AUL don’t do anything drastic like switch to summer soccer!

If you could get going there will be room to play twice a week and everything would be done before August to go again for next season all be it with a limited break.
Playing twice a week will bring its own problems and the Clash with GAA will cause problems for some clubs.
But realistically I can’t see this season being completed if social distancing remains in place how could it?
And thus you won’t be able to start in August either and then if you want a 2021 season it will only have to be a season starting in the spring of 2021 at the earliest
Could be a long time before the return of junior football

It may not return at all a lack of interest from last 2 seasons might tell the aul the game is up ....money is and was and will be a huge problem for this organisation.a lot of the top aul player s are Reddy to try MSL again I'm hearing.

I heard a rumour of 3 games a week to finish it off in the Leinster Senior League. Can only see the teams who have a chance of winning something going for that.Teams at the bottom will be giving walkovers all over the place and wide spread injuries to players.

The aul is on its knees anyway and i think this is the final nail in the coffin alot of teams wont come back from this as they will need sponsorship etc. I think clubs should go msl junior or senior better structured leagues.

30/04/2020, 8:36 PM
Just guessing but you’d have to go with country teams or teams that have underage structure, 1. Coachford 2. Innishvilla 3. Macrom 4 Kanturk. Absolutely no clue it’s just a looking at the teams who have left previous they seem to fit the bill.
Even if them teams go league will be weaker and not as big but I still think AUL has a place in cork soccer.
Money will be hard for teams now with so many pubs and businesses closed.
Really think AUL should be looking to get b/c teams from Senior clubs. Make it a feeder league to the MSL.

You would think the aul could access credit and funds plus what they already have in the kitty to move forward and take their organisation to another level but if I'm honest its like the fai it need a huge clean out what's in position at the moment committee wise don't have a will to change nor will they embrace it ..then you have the refs clean out needed ther to will they I don't think so ..my thinking And others with clubs going MSL the better player left will leave to a better chalange ..change is key and that not how the aul do business.

what do you mean by clean out needed of the refs?
sure theres a severe shortage of refs.
agree standards are not level among them as a group but sure isnt that the case with teams too.
hats off to any fella that goes out to ref a game in lower divisions, cant be just for the money cos thats not much to be fair.
some brutal games of football at all levels over the years, some days i dont even stay until half time the game is so poor so cant imagine refs being too excite for 90 minutes

I can agree change is needed in how things are done but it is happening slowly.
The game changer would be summer soccer if they keep losing clubs they will have to try and do something different.
The lack of games from December to March is a killer.
It’s effectively 2 separate seasons at this stage.

They may be a shortage how 1 or 2 in aul haven't been dropped is beyond me there agenda driven and bring personal biz on to the field with them and don't give me the clap for our hero rubbish either ..not all are like that but theres 3 there at least like that .

Common sense
05/05/2020, 1:11 AM
It’s a simple process to join another league . As stated in Aul rules the MFA and the FAI . It requires a change of league form that is signed by the league a team wishes to join and the league a team wishes to leave . If a league refuses to sign they must give a reason why an application has been denied . Then it goes to an appeal to MFA pretty standard . Looking back over the years plenty of clubs have moved for example Lakewood and Carrigtwohill moved last season from Aul. And going back over seasons plenty of other clubs have as well. Park a few seasons ago etc so it’s a non issue really . Once the appeal is done correctly and as per rules there are no reasons why a club cannot move . The Aul themselves have no problem themselves accepting teams from other leagues etc . I remember years back the Aul and the Msl came to an agreement that they would stop movement between both leagues for a set period but that does not stand anymore .
