Did Limerick ban RTE from saying anything about them too lol, or is that another club's tactic?

Well it wont be bland stuff at Limerick so..both on or off the park. Maybe Sullivan should be reminded about the cost of fines for red cards and look at the Sean Connor Dundalk record!

Alleged irregular betting patterns were also a feature of his stint at Oriel Park. Fran Gavin even addressed both teams in the dressing rooms before one particular match.

Also sacked from Bohs at least partially over sexual harassment claims!

Not the first time O'Sullivan has tried to get him in, though baffled as to why exactly. Limerick FC is looking deader and deader every day.

Conner can talk a good game and be very convincing if you don't know his history. But if you are are running an LOI club you should know the history of the people you're bringing in.

Need to tread carefully here lads.

AFAIK Mr. Connors was granted ethnic status by Enda Kenny during the last dail.

My understanding of this is that Mr. Connors has carte blanche to do whatever he likes.

Certainly a convincing character but his track record should be a deterrent to any LOI club even considering hiring him.Limerick tottering from the sublime to the ridiculous.

I wasnt actually being smart. I'd have presumed that after his 6 month jail sentence that he would have been allocated a probation officer. It's public record about his legal issues even if the offence was what some would consider harsh. Did he actually serve jail time or was he offered a probationary sentence?

Funny thing is that I think he could be a decent manager if everything was about football. He certainly could talk the talk. He did ok at Sligo, he can say he got Dundalk to Europe, he wasnt dreadful in football terms at Bohs.

Its all the other stuff, rumoured or otherwise that blotted his copybook. He isnt the worst manager that has graced LoI with just the football in mind. A Roddy led consortium to buy out Limerick is all that's missing in this. Get the popcorn ready....

They should take the money they're paying for a solicitor and give it to Russell. Would probably be cheaper in the long run. The people in charge of the club have lost touch with reality really.

Just wondering: What happened to the 300k emergency fund the FAI had announced last year? Have Limerick tried to access the fund, or do they plan to?
And, in light of all that's going on in the FAI at the moment, does the fund actually exist at all?

Weren't the PFAI putting in half of that? I'd be surprised if it exists given the PFAI's reaction at the time

If I remember correctly, the FAI initially wanted the PFAI to put in half of it, but announced a few days later that the FAI would put in the entire 300k.

Is there 'no other option' ? contracts can be enforced by law and any employee issues can be referred to the relevant national authorities. There are also limitations around the right to strike for any employees (although its questionable if these apply to amateur players)

Talk going round of the U-19s and U-17s being registered to fulfill senior fixtures. In the event I would rather hope that they/their parents wouldn't cross a picket.

Limerick's winner was a penalty, was there anything weird about it?

Edit: Apparently Cobh's manager has gone as far as contacting the FAI about this. Not sure they'll want to properly investigate.

This team of scab children they're considering Fielding is the typical kind of daft, think you're being clever but you're actually being really stupid, cartoon villianry that we do so well as a league.

If the players are on strike Cabinteely won't play. So what's the point of the scab children??

Is it the most cunning of cunning plans??

Limerick field their scab children.

Other teams refuse to play.

20 walkovers.

First Division champions.

NeverFeltBetter
22/05/2019, 12:33 PM
Would Cabinteely refuse to play the kids though? When it would result in sanctions against themselves? Going out and slaughtering Limerick would be better for the strikers position I would think.

Lim till i die
22/05/2019, 12:37 PM
Cabinteely have a few pros (I presume looking at their squad)

I know it's the 21st century and no one cares about anything anymore etc but I'd still like to think passing a picket is a no no.

NeverFeltBetter
22/05/2019, 12:48 PM
I would agree, but it wouldn't be fair on Cabinteely if they were sanctioned as a result. In fact, as stated, we'd have the bizarre situation where O'Sullivan and company are being rewarded for their actions, potentially.

Presumably if players picket the officials won’t pass it ?
I doubt the FAI would let it get that far (match would be called off in advance)

The FAI who awarded this guys regime a licence despite several near strike misses already, debts all over town and clearly, demonstrably unable to meet the running costs of the club for some time.
