Has Aaron Greene signed somewhere and I missed it?
not yet afaik , from what I heard he isn't getting offered a new deal by us.The length of contract required a sticking point.

Was in the paper a couple of weeks ago saying he has offers in League One and Two but doesn't want to leave his family, so presumably trying to drive up his wages here.

decent player on his day but I reckon he could be over valuing himself especially give the limited options out there. The only team in Dublin potentially interested in him would be Bohs & I'm not sure what their budget is this season.

Derry signed Harry Monaghan and Jordan Allen this Morning
Also in Talks with Barry Molloy and Possibly Rory Patterson coming back as well, the latter would be a great resigning, but could maybe see other clubs coming in for him now that hes interested in coming back

One of the best defenders in the league when fit. If Cork improve their S&C set up, he could be a pivotal player.

Not sure why people keep talking about KB to Rovers as if it's a done deal.
Is it a done deal now?

Follow FC Utd a bit and know a few who head home and away with them and by all accounts Patterson rocked up a couple of stone overweight and didn't look half the player he used to be when he signed back for them a month or two ago.

I wouldn't be too bothered about that. Derry have a good S+C coach. Patterson has signed for them at the perfect time, our abnormally long off-season will work in his favour.
A few weeks in the gym and a good pre-season will burn that off quickly enough. He's a very good signing.

Not that we are blessed but bar galway's attacking options thats not a squad to fear and harps dont look like theyl make much improvement given their low budget, then again we could easilly go down this year.

Harps have basically the same squad as last season with a few added that will strengthen the squad depth, but we'll be depending on our defense being solid and hard to beat, have no doubt though we'll scrap for everything but we no doubt lack quality in the top half of the field.

The main thing for us is that we've not lost any of our main players.
Also, we're not finished signing players. We've to strengthen further yet.

Definitely agree with you. No club should fear us, but the one thing I take confidence from is our strikeforce have scored goals at this level and I don't see any other side that I would envisage finishing in the bottom half having as much firepower as we do.
Our wingers are lacklustre to say the least, we need at least one more... I'm happy with our options in the centre of the park with Connolly, Sullivan, Sinnott. Alex Byrne is expected to sign.
Our biggest weakness last year was our leaky defence, Cantwell missed over half the season with injury but was impressive when he played. Stephen Folan has a huge amount to prove with us, he is essentially Oji's replacement, although it won't be too hard to outshine him, he was atrocious for most of the year.
Conor Winn is now our number 1, we changed our 'keeper a ridiculous amount of times least year using Gleeson, Hanley, Winn and even Kevin Horgan on the last day of the season. We need a consistency at the back to give ourselves a good chance of pushing on. The final additions Dunne makes to the squad could define whether we're scrapping at the bottom again or pushing for mid-table IMO.

I'd have Conor Earley and Alan Byrne down as Defenders in that Bray list with Gareth McDonagh in Midfield!
Alan Byrne has played in midfield every time he's appeared for them so far this year
Byrne played in midfield against St Pat's in the LFA Senior Cup match last Saturday, sat just in front of the back four in a 4-1-4-1. Reports on the Waterford loss (all from the same source by the looks of it!) says he played midfield in that game so Dublinwanderer is safe enough in listing him as midfield. :-)

Early is a winger, he was just played as a left back as we had no one else during his last stint. McDonagh is a winger so would be midfield alright.
sulywaterfordfc
24/02/2016, 11:38 AM
McDonagh was done as playing right full back against Waterford, Dylan Connolly down as playing right wing and Alan Byrne was down as playing midfield. If that's any help.
