No town weren't missing any to my knowledge, young lad in goals that's about it. Had majority if not all their best players I think

Young lad Rob Shire in goals who played with Limerick and is off to a scholarship in America! No excuses Olympic B deserved to draw or even win , town took off the spine of there midfield thinking it was over. As for Olympic keeping there players happy? How will town keep all there players happy? Great squad of players, Jamie Cullen pakie darcy Adrian carew on the bench? 3 players who would start on the majority or squads :-)

Olympic a were average at best, training for the last four weeks up against a team that haven't even trained this year, and missing six players...Gary Higgins was great to watch.. Some player. They will still struggle in the premier.

Id say they took off lads as they were due to play a friendly 2nite v regional.. did this go ahead and anyone have the score..

Well no you'd play the play-off Wednesday, the semi Thursday and final Saturday. Ya you're completely right they are both there on merit just as the town and olympic b would be level on points and goal difference on merit so explain to me how it would be fair to toss a coin?

So 1 team would possibly have to play tuesday wednesday and thursday .. really .and olympic B would get 1 days notice that they have to play wednesday night.. hardly fair..I suppose we will have to see if hibs can beat town 2 nil.. personally I can see town scoring at least 1 goal. So probably wont be an issue anyway.

I can't see hibs winning 2-0 either but was just interested to know what would happen, think town will win comfortably.

Penalties - both teams show up for the semi final match, but have a penalty shoot out beforehand.

Would be great fun, would draw some interest and additional supporters, and would be the fairest way to sort out the problem (if it even comes to it?).
In saying that, I now want hibs to win 2 0 and for Shannon Town to take up this suggestion :D

cant make the town and hibs game tonight as working. if anyone that posts here are at match tonight could they put up some sort of a match report, teams who scored ect. it would be much appreciated.

If it was a coin-toss what about it? It's a PRE-SEASON tournament, suggesting to have a play-off in the group stage of a pre-season tournament is silly with teams beginning league campaigns the coming weekend.

Can understand where your coming from although it is a pre season tournament I can't imagine shannon town (the holders) being too happy being knocked out over a coin toss, pretty sure players want to get as much ball playing time as they can before the season starts.

Just an observation - Town A team managed to have both their games kicking off at the later time (7.30), while Olympic A have both there matches kicking off at the earlier time (615) ? Is it not easier for the team to prepare and have players available with the later kick-off time ?

It probably is easier to prepare for a later kick off especially midweek.. but its their tournament and I suppose that means its done to suit A team manager ..

what was all the drama with leahy and Olympic before game heard he was togging out for hibs tonight until Olympic chairman got involved ??

would love to know the rules on squads/ players for tournament ...? monk / tino togged out for Olympic in earlier games and monk played for hibs tonight and tino came on for Shannon town A ? also skinny played for Town a tonight and young Monaghan ? seems crazy that teams are able to use any players if needed?

I had surgery on my knee last week...
Dunno when or if I'll be back.
