So I take it none planned until after the GAA season now?
None are planned. They're contracted to show 10 more.

That'll presumably include the two semi-finals and the final of the FAI Cup too. So, seven live League games, most likely all in the last few weeks of the season, after the GAA is over and done in September.

That's what happened last year. Showed 12 league games and 3 in the Cup. According to the Indo last week the contract is for 15 so adds up.

Wasn't the contract for 30-odd the last couple of years?
That was announced a few years ago "rising to 30 per season" but I presume things changed pretty quickly

That contract was up at the end of last year wasn't it? Plus the whole rising to 30 games was quietly forgotten about over in Montrose. It was tied to the national team but their rights are centralised now under uefa for the new deal so any loi deal is seperate now.

Looking forward to Setanta's coverage of games starting, they still do a decent job even with obvious cuts to the budget.

Setanta do it the right way I think. Skeleton crew, one presenter and analyst and maybe an extra reporter at the game. I wonder if half the reason RTE hate showing games is because they seem to be contractually to send about 50 people out every time they cover a match.

Starting in the next month or so it seems. RTE have filled their pre-GAA quota so now Setanta will get a shot until the All-Ireland is finished. Setanta had an interesting experiment with Thursday games on the off-weekends from the Europa League towards the end of last season and I wonder if they will again around September and October.

Christ on a bike, just after watching Soccer Republic, the standard of referring is awful!

Almost every single game had a big refereeing incident, it's gone beyond a joke.
Second week in a row they've got Rob Lehane's name wrong.
He was Conor last week, David this week.
Surely be Rod next week.

What happened to the televised games thread / list? Couldn't find it.

Anyone else think Tony O'D is a much better presenter than Peter Collins?
Also, surprised he's not in Brazil already, or at least with the Irish squad in 'murica.

Yeah Tony is way better, he's a league of Ireland fan too.. he often goes to our games when not working for RTE.

During the goal of the month contest, they showed Shane Duggan's goal for Limerick v Drogs, and the commentator kept referring to him as Ger Duggan .. lol

And it was commentary recorded well after the match. Really embarrassing, amateurish stuff.

There's massively amateur mistakes every week with the show, but I think it's steadily improving and much better than we could have hoped for after the initial announcements for Soccer Republic.
It's on at 7:15 next week with Aidan Power presenting, so that'll be interesting at least, directly before World Cup coverage.
It's scheduled for 30 minutes, which is 22 minutes long in TV land. I'd expect the 2 bigger games to get most of that too

I had to laugh, in the post-match FAI Cup interviews from Oriel Park, they had the MNS logo on the back drop.
To be fair the show isn't too bad, not much different to MNS was.
I missed the week of Duggan's goal but nearly sure during the Bohs highlights from the weekend he was called Ger Duggan again.

For god's sake, it'd be nice if they showed somebody other than UCD and Bray for once.

The public gets what the public wants, baby.
Soccer Republic seems to be gone off the RTE Player, think I watched it there last week but doubting myself now.
