Poor old Stephen was offered the cognac, pistol and dark room but has decided (thanks to a certain "events company") to hang on in there. Would love to see him turn it around but can't see how he can given how Rovers are training and preparing. He needs a buddy in there to dig him out, won't happen though (imo).

Bisto Flood signed for you ? Would be a good signing for Pats, good understanding with Fagan.

yeah, he 'announced' it via his twitter. We'll see how it pans out

Shams team looked a shambles on Friday night, arguing among themselves and play was very disjointed. Missing the leadership of Murray or Rice, especially if all not going well. Far to much change in personnel - especially at the back - and a pretty dodgy keeper mean they are conceding far too many goals. Still in with chance of winning the League but a defeat on Sunday at home to Pats would surely mark the end of their title aspirations (and equally surely mark the end of Kenny).

Difficult call as it will cost a bit to get rid of him, the question is at what point does keeping him end up costing more (lost revenue) than sacking him ? Also the club is about to find out one of the down side of fans owned club, Board are often too close to fans (especially the louder ones) and knee jerk reactions ensue.

I'm with you MB on the club-owned model having a negative effect. While it's great to be part of something, there is (from my experience) not enough of a divide and difference between the supporters and those running the club. One way for it to change properly is for the ones who spent years bringing the club to the promised land to let go and leave it to professionals, at least some areas. But I don't see that happening.

Rovers are reaping the harvest of letting MON rule the roost and bully loyal servants out of the club. That and an erratic signing policy (especially in relation to goalkeepers) is causing a ruckus. Can't see them turning it around this weekend.

I wouldn't have thought sacking Kenny was a knee-jerk reaction. It would be different if there was some discernible plan being displayed.

CD, straight question, do you reckon the situation SK came into was conducive to success? I mean, MON had gotten rid of a few dedicated folk there, players had been signed before bringing in the new coach, so has SK had a fair crack of the whip as he had a massively hard act to live up to with (in my opinion) a start that went against him.

I can't really comment on behind the scenes, but he's been given the means to build a squad and the players he's brought in haven't performed to a man while the players from last season have performed below standard. His management of the team in general has been erratic and the team are playing awful football. Barraclough, by contrast, was parachuted in on the eve of the first game with a squad assembled by somebody else and much smaller means and has been a success from day one.

Any I'm not trying blow his trumpet here but I read the odd comment from Rovers fans about 'needing to click, but Buckley had a similar time frame and he's working with practically a whole new squad

Dodge, when Bucko went in he had everything ready to go, plus there was going to be a major clear out of players. So he built (almost) from scratch. Pats had enjoyed relative stability the previous couple of seasons and decent progress. Rovers had let MON dictate and bring in his own people who weren't fit for purpose, so it was going to be a tough job from the off. Added to that the odd situation even regarding fitness training at Rovers (something Bucko would never in a million years let happen) and you've a recipe for disaster. And again I'll hark back to odd signings. Janssen, Gilbert neither of whom are up to it.

It's this fella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Cregg according to the Derry Journal.
CSKA Sofia are in talks with him though.

From Dublin, played a lot with Falkirk. Can't say I know him.

Rovers had let MON dictate and bring in his own people who weren't fit for purpose.

Please elaborate on the above? Who exactly are you talking about that MON got rid of and who did MON bring in that wasn't fit for purpose?

None of that helps the players gel on the pitch, which was my point

Thats not really true. On or off field

A bit of competition for Keane which is no bad thing from what I've seen of him this season.

And Pierce Sweeney is set to sign for Reading.

Interesting that people assumed Brian McDermott was at the Carlisle a few weeks back to scout Forrester but he wound up signing Sweeney.

He definitely was looking at Forrester. has seen him play 3 times (not really well in any of them)

I said that a few weeks back, he was there that night to look at Sweeney, and it wasn't the first time Reading had been looking at him. Supposed to be a very good deal for Bray and the player. Very good talent and still only 17 has looked very comfortable at CH for us since coming in. Hope it all goes well for him and if we had any cop on we would throw an aul friendly game into the contract details too.

Deal should be signed within the next 24 to 48 hours from what i hear. All the best to the young lad and hope he really goes far in the game.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread i think that Connor Murphy was going to sign for Bohs. Apparently he will be signing for Cork now. (though the person who broke the initial rumour also broke this one) ;)

Was he released or wanted to go? Saw him play last year and thought he was a decent player. And that he'd suit what Bucko is looking for.

the lad has bags of talent but doesnt influence a game enough and is very light. seems to have zero confidence atm.
I reckon he has the potential to be a serious player in this league - but one of those players that it just might never happen for

oh and i reckon it may have been a little of both. Bucko said he wanted more game time, but we also brough in Flood, so perhaps we need to get rid of someone, so it worked for both sides

both. he asked to leave and was released.

He didn't do enough to justify any of the optimism myself and a handful of others had for him.

Could be anywhere, would love to see him at Harps, but it's unlikely. Either of the Rovers the most likely destination I'd imagine. Either Sligo for the commute, or Shamrock for the Kenny link.
