Are you feeling left out?
Nah not one bit. I'm much more concerned with what's going on here http://www.galwaysoccer.com/2012/05/under-19s-and-future.html
no wonder this website is dying a slow death. Never had a problem with Limerick and always enjoyed our games both home and away but the bile from some of their fans and glaoting towards GUFC is pathetic . No club in this league including shams have a secure future unless we all work together and force the FAI to build a strong domestic league.

Galway fans are just getting a bit tiresome in their bitterness towards the other Galway clubs. We get it like, but its not Mervue or SD Galways fault your club was run into the ground.
Saying that SD were quick to jump on your grave

Murray's been playing injured for most of the season and in a lot of pain. We'll see him back to his best yet.

force the FAI to build a strong domestic league.
Explain how you plan to do this.
What's that??
You were just having an unprovoked whinge??
Fair enough, carry on.

I think you'll find 9 times out of 10 on this if there is a smart comment passed on this regards GUFC it is in response to some kind of whinge that a Galway fan has been on with. Here alone a galway fan came on to complain about a bit of banter between Cork and Limerick fans and that is when a smart response came back. As El-Pietro says it is getting tiresome the complaining about SD Galway and Mervue.

Pats have done their bit. We haven't released a player for full international duty to the FAI in nearly 30 years. Shove it FAI!!!

How can you have a strong domestic league when your FAI president earns 4 times the league's prize money.

Bingo.
At the end of the day winning trophies and progressing is as much about making money to continue to do it as it is just the glory of being champions.

I think Barry O'Mahoney has joined (will be joining) Athlone Town from Harps.

Rumours that Emmet Friars, released by Dungannon this week, will be coming back to us.
Also, that Ireland's most handsome midfielder, Ciarán Martyn, released by the Glens this week, is in talks to come back.
Would be too great additions to our squad with all the injuries we have at the minute.

Is he living down here - not often we'd sign someone from Harps.

He's very small, but young. Has good days and bad days, but was never going to get into Harps midfield ahead of Shaun McGowan and Tommy McBride (the only strength we have at the minute).
From Sligo, but college in Carlow. Suppose it's a handy middle ground for him.

He's back in Derry this week for a visit, nothing more.

Just before he went to Iran he had offers to sign for Derry, Sligo, Cork Limerick and Shels. I would imagine some of those clubs would still have an interest in him.

Don't be surprised if he ends up on Shannonside.

christ , why on earth would zayed come back . he's playing in the Asian CL and in front of tens of thousands every home game. even if he went to England Premiership he'd have problems getting anywhere near that!!!!
very very strange decision if he does come back!

Yeah your right, he would get nowhere near the Asian Champions League with any English club.

Leaving Iran I can see alright but coming back to Ireland I don't think he will. He could probably pick up a league 1 or championship team in England or at the very least chance his arm there first before even considering coming back.

If he could "probably pick up a league 1 or championship team in England " he would've by now.

China and Japan all real options for him with the exposure he has that side of the world. Big crowds and money out their also less chance of being nuked. Personally I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

Tommy Barrett is after joining us as Head of Youth Development. Does that mean he can't play for Athlone anymore or what would be the story there?

Surely that would be a conflict of interest (of sorts) if he filled both roles?

Thats what I was thinking. Athlone have brought a few new players in so maybe it was to cover his departure.

SuperBlues Favourite Returns
Limerick Fc Welcome back Tommy Barrett.
It really has been a remarkable couple of season for Limerick FC as the club continues to grow in stature both on and off the field. Limerick are comitted to building a solid club with solid foundations and have again shown their intent by recruiting former Captain and fans favourtie Tommy Barrett as Head of youth development. Tommy returns to his home town club and brings with him vast playing experience at League of Ireland level along with an array of coaching knowledge.Tommy was a natural leader for Limerick FC on the field of play and his instinctive and professional attitude for all things football make him ideally equipt to take on this role.
Speaking about his new challenge, Tommy points to the work that needs to be done, "I'll be helping Declan Farmer with the Under 19's, we've got another very good group of young lads this year and we'll be looking to win the league. Declan has been doing great work with them and we're looking forward to really get going".
Developing players to push on to the Senior squad is only part of Tommys' remit "I'll be looking at the Academy and all age groups. We're looking to introduce a style of playing at all levels that's consistent with the clubs overall football philosophy. I'm not looking to really change too much, it'll be more like taking each age group and coming up with the exact age appropriate coaching, for example, kids need to be taught basic control before they go on to passing so we'll say aged 4-7 we'll mainly concentrate on that then we'll move our focus on to passing when they are naturally confident with the ball at their feet. As i said we won't be changing too much just ensuring kids are learing the right things at the right age".
The move by Chairman Pat O'Sullivan to bring in Tommy certainly shows that there is a definite and coherent plan to consistently develop players capable of playing at the very highest level, "We also spoke about not concentrating on winning, the emphasis won't be on winning leagues or cups, not until the age of 15 anyway. Kids are naturally competitive anyway but our focus is to develop players not teams we want to develop players who are capable of playing for Limerick at the top level but also capable of playing across the water in England. There's also a gap there now that the A Championship is gone so we're looking at hopefully coming up with something there because not all players are fully developd at 19, some will take another couple of years and we don't want to lose them so we're trying to look at everything".
The news of Tommy Barrets return will undoubtedly be met with universal approval and the nature of his role within the club will fill everyone with Limerick FC in their hearts with excitement and confidence. The bright future that many predict for soccer in Limerick has just got alot brighter, welcome back Tommy!

Mad stuff going on in Mordor. Heard they were in talks with Magilton and Kerr for a Director of Football post, (Rico rumour a ****take by Pats fans ( but indubitably a mosht shatisfying one ) .
So they may end up having to continue paying Stephen Heroes contract but that he would be kept away from the pitch and the players until he can`t take the humiliating treatment and walks away and inevitably wins his EAT case.
The other option being considered is paying him 200 k of whats left of his contract.
The other rumour is that SEAT are being dropped as sponsors and being replaced by 4 star pizza.!

Terrific signing for whoever gets him. I'm surprised somebody like Pats hasn't come in for him, both now and during the winter.
The Monaghan move surprised me. Had heard he was on trials in the UK. Presumably hadn't impressed enough
He was sensational in the first game of last season against Pats, but only on the bench for Monaghan in a few recent games
