I think he would have been worth a shot for sure. Played at the highest level for so many years in England. Has a world of experience in dressing rooms with top managers. Was always a leader on the pitch, surely would have been decent as a manager.

It'd be great if they got Rico, but I'd worry for him if the behind the scenes stuff is as dysfunctional as they appear. Still can't get over that PC piece on the website. Rico's one of the good guys, he can do alot for a club like Sligo, but not on current evidence.

Now I've no idea if you said this but I have to presume his Roddy comment was in regards to a lot of people saying Roddy was a shoe in for the job. Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case.

The Cook statement was a joke. And what made it, and Rovers, a bigger joke was that it was published on the club website. All it did was bring the publics attention to the meeting on Monday night (which I have no problem with - it's great to see so many people concerned about the running of the club)

Dong, I'll take it for the moment that you understand the difference between bluffing and repeating what was heard, rather than planting stories or stirring - which probably constitutes 95% of posts on forums anyway. I didn't understand what exactly you were referring to in terms of Rodster, I was surprised in the first place that he'd be linked with the job (though he does have good buddies in the meeja who'll always give him airtime) and by throwing back insults, well, doesn't become you and smacks a little of being overly defensive. I do understand that you feel you've to defend what's happening with your club, though a little perspective is needed. You came hard about me mentioning that I'd worry about Rico walking into a warzone - why not just address that rather than trying to muckrake and insult? If it's not a warzone or there aren't problems behind the scenes, say so. We can all have an opinion, but lowering it to a insult level doesn't move anything positive into it. And I'm not a journo, just so you can understand it.
