I know it was a friendly and all but wasn't 2 games in under 48 hours a bit much for Waterford?

Yeah, but I would assume it was more so to get some match practice and match fitness rather than anything else. Well I hope so anyway....not filling me with confidence for the season. :(

Cliftonville 4-2 Monaghan

Monaghan boss Roddy Collins is wearing a coat that would put Del Boy to shame. Even Jim Boyce looks disturbed by it.

That Monaghan team wouldn't be promoted from the First Division this year.

Trevor Molloy? "The" Trevor Molloy? He'd be a bit past it for Premier Division football it it is him.

I know it was only a friendly but some of that defending was pathetic.

Molloy is our new coach.

Is it just my eyes or was that video really hard to watch?

That was brutal though. The first two goals were horrendous by any standard of league.

Not just you. Looks like a mixture of no tripod and the cameraman trying to keep way too narrow an angle.

quite worrying alright but on a plastic pitch and they are in full flight and it looked really friendly match speed. second united goal was well taken (the first ....no comment) the first two reds goals didn't shock me that much............
i thought our attack was the problem but seems to be a the back
anyway time will tell
what happened agains sherriff?

Roddy seems to have raided the LSL. Griffiths and Larkin were with Crumlin I think and Molloy with Bluebell until a couple of weeks ago.

Dundalk will play their first pre-season friendly of the year when they take on Banbridge Town at Crystal Park this Saturday, 11 February (kick-off 2pm).

I really don't see the point in playing 3 IFA 1st division teams. They do not compare to LOI premier teams at all.

Dunny

Just a run out. Id doubt many IFA premier teams would want the friendlies at this stage of the season.

encouraging display from Pat's. some lovely football with bermo and carroll linking up very well down the left. still think we could do with another striker though

Comfortable enough game for Pats, Chambers the stand out player again

Longford are a nice passing them, really try to keep the ball on the deck. Kirby in the middle should have a good season with them. Best of luck

Your pre-season so far is doing wonders for my confidence if I'm to be honest!

Also, Bobby Ryan starting for Monaghan? Pre-season or not that'd worry me if I was one of them, wonderful player in his day but distinctly underwhelming with Limerick and Galway (I presume?) in the last coupla seasons.
