Random site with some general info here (http://www.fromdolelandtopoland.com/activity). Has info on train timetables, visas, phrases and stuff. Looks like it's only starting out; could be useful closer the time.
Hopefully theres more trains being put on from Poznan to Gdansk and back again when the tournament comes around.

120 Euro Croatia tickets up there now

I reckon for the Italy and Croatia games, our fans are going to outnumber the Italians and Croatians massively. There seems to perpetually be CRO V ITA tickets up, which leaves me to think that all the CRO v IRE and ITA v IRE tickets are being snapped up by Ireland fans.
As for Spain, not so sure we'll be in the majority there, because there never seems to be Spain tickets up for our match or matches against the other two sides in the group.

Maybe not but I reckon that is largely down to neutrals rather than Spanish fans who dont traditionally travel in large numbers. Im sure with our general all round super-cool friendliness we will have the natives on side for that one!

I'm over in India here so I be on that ticket portal thing at odd hours! Just after seeing some I-talian I presume off loading their tickets, since ESP-ITA and ITA-IRL both appeared. of course I couldn't be lucky enough to pick up the one for our match!

I nearly picked up a €70 Cat 2 Italy ticket there (€97 with crazy fees included). I had given my own address on registration but was about the use the girlfriend's credit card. I went in to see if there was anywhere I could add her billing details but there doesn't seem to be. Would my own address with her credit card number, etc. work? Think it's the first time I've seen a Cat 2 Ireland ticket.
Also, it's really stupid that it gives you a drop down box where you can select as many as four tickets but then tells you that they don't have the required amount. By the time I've checked 4, 3, and 2 they're often gone. I suppose I should just be greedy and get one for myself straight away.

I had a wee go at that one too! yes its the first non-CAT1 for italy i've seen. I did pick up 4 cat2 spain a few weeks ago, such luck!
Likewise I tried 4,3,2 first with no success, terribly thought out website so it is! as for the CC details, I think it works ok to stick in some one elses card details even if its not at your address

Yeah it's beyond belief that the obvious glitches haven't been fixed up yet. You really struck gold with the Spain tickets. The more you get at the one time the less administration fees too.

Promoting their availability will ensure they're gone.
My experience on using portals is, if you're not at the payment process within roughly 30 seconds of limited supply tickets being made available, you can forget it. You have to sit and watch it like a hawk for up to several hours at a time to get any joy. And wear out the "Refresh" button.

Not staying for all 3, arriving in Gdansk the 13th. staying there 4 nights near the beach, happy days

Just the one night but we'll probably regret it as it seems like a nice spot. We'll be going to Berlin for a couple of nights in between Poznan and Gdansk as it's only a 3hr drive from Poznan. Hitting Warsaw for a couple of nights after Gdansk.

I presume if it shows up on the credit card statement it should be safe enough. It's really worth buying a few together if possible. I got four Croatia tickets (hopefully!) so it works out at €137 each instead of €152. I know it's still stupid money but we're €60 better off between us. Even better if you can buy a couple of matches together.
One more thing, the fact that I bought four tickets in the one transaction, I wonder what are the chances of us being seated together?

We are staying in Poznan but for the game against Spain we plan to get the 1st train to Gdansk on the morning of the match and then get the 1st train back the next morning after a night on the beer because we don't plan to get any accomodation there.

Kinda doing the same myself. Flying home from Gdansk Friday morning, planning on kipping in the airport...

I would like to think that the tickets will be seated together, especially when bought together on the portal. But I also think if you have bought tickets in two separate single transactions, there is reasonable chance they will also be together. Tickets havent been printed yet so presumably exact seat allocations will only be made by UEFA in the coming months.

Irish fans, Irish food, Irish music. "A 110% Irish experience". God forbid you might actually want to mingle with other fans or experience a bit of Polish culture.
Sounds like a glorified Paddys day in Poland in mid June. Not for this Irish fan.

If you buy 4 tickets for a match from the UEFA portal, can you still buy some more if it reappears from the same account?
EAFC_rdfl
29/02/2012, 10:30 AM
nah its 4 per account per match. so get a friend to create an account. you can interchange credit cards between accounts though, so you can let some one else create an account and use your credit card for purchasing
DeLorean
29/02/2012, 10:47 AM
Nice one, thanks for that.
Actually, does that mean if you can only buy, say, 2 in the one transaction, that you can come back and buy 2 more from the same account later on? Basically, as long as you don't exceed 4 in total for the one match?

http://www.extratime.ie/newsdesk/articles/7612/uefa-to-announce-successful-ticket-applicants/
UEFA will from today begin contacting all Irish applicants that applied for tickets to UEFA Euro 2012 matches, featuring the Republic of Ireland, as to the status of their application.
This first contact will be based only on the original 6,000 seats allocated for Irish fans in each Group C match. Successful applicants will be advised by UEFA of dates for payment while unsuccessful applicants will be put on a waiting list and will be considered for a ticket allocation when the release of the additional 2,300 tickets gained for Irish supporters commences in the coming weeks.

The initial ticket allocation of 6,000 tickets per match was almost twice oversubscribed by Irish supporters eligible to apply to UEFA. Supporters who were eligible to apply are those who travel to away matches, regular ticket purchasers and clubs and leagues and anyone from this group who is unsuccessful in the initial allocation, starting today, will be considered for the remaining additional tickets still to be allocated in the coming weeks.
Welcoming the news, John Delaney, Chief Executive of the Football Association of Ireland said;
“I am happy that we have been able to secure 2,300 additional tickets so far for Irish supporters and thank UEFA for assisting us. We will continue to work closely with UEFA to secure any additional tickets that become available, we are also awaiting final confirmation of substantial extra tickets for the Italy game as they have not taken up their full allocation. UEFA EURO 2012 is generating real excitement throughout the country and while it will not be possible for every fan to attend, we will continue to work hard to secure the maximum number of tickets possible.”
Although the Republic of Ireland sales portal on UEFA is now closed, all supporters can still apply for tickets through the UEFA European Re-sale portal (https://ticketing.uefa.com/euro2012-en/default.aspx) which redistributes tickets based on availability of returns.

No luck.
I got an email from UEFA congratulating me on my successful application. Only when I went onto the portal and looked at my account details did I realise that I was only part successful - I got no group game allocation whatsoever, only conditional Q/F stage onwards - conditional on Ireland qualifying. They still take 290 euros for the privilege.
Is there another round or is that it?

Would have been better us going to Ukraine. Stadiums are bigger, tickets are in less demand. Almost all successful applications got knockout round tickets, and it's likely that they would all be in Ukraine. Instead fans have to scrap it out for spares of Polish-based tickets, while those successful mainly paid through the nose.

True. As always I'm sure tickets will start to free up in due course.

Very little accommodation on ukr however and a poorer transport network and much further between host cities.
Have heard a few other cases similar to you stutts. Think that's v unfair IMO, at least there should've been a box to tick to allow u to opt out of knockout tickets if u didn't get an allocation of group tickets.

I think most fans would take guaranteed game tickets, over the "poorer transport network".
It's Ukraine, not Uganda. There is transport, there are buses, trains, trams, and metros available. There are hotels, hostels, and apartments around. Kiev's stadium can accommodate way more people than where we're playing. Sure except for Sweden and Holland, fans will have to travel around, but most are very experienced travellers who know that not everywhere is like Germany, and can accept it.
Accommodation is just as expensive in Poland. So expensive that fans are staying a couple of hundred kilometres away from the venues, and in tents. There is accommodation around, just depends on how much you're willing to pay. Unlike with the tickets, you do have choice with that.

Well that typifies the poor organisation that has frustrated many of us over the last few months. Talk about elation and despair, you must have been mad when you logged into the portal.
At least when I logged into my email account I was put out of my misery when I saw the title of the 'not successful' email from UEFA.
UEFA were less than transparent in a number of ways when the fan portal was opened in December. It wasn't clear whether applications could be partially successful. If you applied for 3 group games, for example, and Spain and Italy tickets were grossly oversubscribed and Croatia wasn't, would they 'split' your application resulting in a better chance of getting Croatia tickets? Did anyone hear of applications which were successful for some group games but not others?
After the debacle of the ticket re-sale portal applications which gave a myriad of error messages and confused communications regarding whether your application had been successful even after you entered CC details, we ought not to be surprised by this.
Still, 6,000 tickets were allocated so there must be lots of happy punters out there.
I suppose UEFA will send out a press release shortly celebrating the huge success of their ticketing system.

I've been allocated tickets for Croatia and Italy only after applying for all games, so I'll have go over to the other thread after all to look for scraps. A bit disappointed although better than a lot I know.
