Are all the sixth-round matches going ahead on the 8th of January? Suspect Dingle will be happy they didn't draw Pike or Sheriff, anyone know much about Carndonagh - any team from Donegal would have a high standard anyway?
6th round games are scheduled for week-end 14th/15th January. That is some journey for Carndonagh to Dingle. Is this the longest journey ever for a team in the F.A.I. Junior Cup? Dingle would want to be sure their ground is playable on that day - otherwise they could lose home advantage. Carndonagh's result against CIE Ranch, winning 3-1, would indicate they would be a useful side.

I second that right boy, hospitality shown to us by Landen was outstanding, from start to finish of day. loads of food, drink after game in a great Pub, The Laurence Inn, i think it was called and giving the kids that travelled on the bus, selection boxes before the game went down a treat with everyone. We had a good day out because of the result, Landen were a big physical side and their day will come. Thanks again from everyone in Tipp, making friends on these days out is important too, hope we can return the hospitality some day...

i dont tink you'll be far off there alwaysahoop but i would fancy tramore to beat willow park they have assembled a star studded squad in tramore and the fai junior cup is top of their list from what im told. willow park had a good win in kilkenny v evergreen last time out tho so should be an interesting tie that 1.

why do you think lads, the majority of people on here know why he signed for them for 1 reason and 1 reason only.
awful shame to see the way Junior football gone and why players are signing for certain clubs, but i guess we are in a recession and people are out of work and thats the way the world works.

"The majority of people", everybody knows why he signed for them. True about the times we live in but will the FAI let it continue?

everyone who signs for pike does so because they want to, no one puts a gun to there head to sign a form. Also no matter how good the player is i doubt pike would want him if he kept rejecting there approaches. I assume the lad has a mind of his own

Carrick United v Gweedore Celtic
Sunday KO 12pm

Should be a decent game, with Gweedore currently in good form at the top of their Premier Division and scoring heavily 38 goals in 10 games. Its a long trip for them and they are staying overnight, which puts a huge cost on any junior club as Carrick and many others can testify over the years. The winners will play away to Ballymote or Claremorris in the next round. Which will be one heck of a spin for us but not so much from Gweedore. Loooking forward to this and hopefully we get decent Januarary weather.

They play cork aul, league tables wont do you any favours though pal cause kinsale havent played a league game yet this season. They have been caught up in domestic cup ties and fai games all season. Physical direct side who are present premier league champions in cork aul. Have one ex ameteur international in Derek Mccarthy top player .

I see them play in the last round and they should have been beaten by a team from the 3rd tier in limerick, they werent up to much that day, maybe they had an off day,id imagine they'll have to up their game 100% to beat kilbarrack, imo.

I suppose I would have to say that they have been the top Junior side in Cork for pretty much 10 years and have on more than one occasion had their obituary written but they keep coming back strong. I would still see a top Dublin side as favourites as the Cork Junior sides are constantly a notch below national level as the top players will always drift to the MSL sides - however Kinsale do have the advantage of not being a city team so fewer players get poached by MSL and they seem to have a squad of great loyalty - Derek Mc as a terrific example.
