When he didn't see any new signings coming in maybe he thought it was time for change?

would that apply to the o'donovan situation my friend?????
strange one if that occurs, although granted they have been playing for boro for most of their career,if i am not mistaken.
colbert is a huge signing if it happens.....
just a quick comment lads, does anyone think, that what(supposedly) is happening with all these lads from limerick returning to junior football ,will have a knock on effect on league of ireland clubs signing young lads from limerick in the future???
don't think mike kerley for one will be rushing out to do them same next season.
it would look like from the outside looking in,that signing for athlone was like a summer job for a student

To answer your first question,no I don't think that's the reason it's probably quite the opposite as pike have made some very good new signings, and to answer the other one about them playing with the boro Wayne didn't as he played his schoolboy with wembley as pike had no schoolboys at the time.I thought you would know that?

apologies so who did his brother play with???
secondly, they must think they have no chance of getting a game with pike.
and lastly what's your opinion on the race to return to junior football, and the reasons for it????

Edward played with boro but as I said pike had no schoolboys, and the reason for players coming back the loi is over in October and as far as I know Conor is the only one who came back, and in fairness athlone is not a shamrock rovers or bohs now are they.and in the limerick case some of them are being blaguarded there so I don't blame them for returning to junior football,

not talking about pike specifically, but previous posters have said that jason hughes and wayne colbert are training with the boro, and i could be wrong again, but wasn't one of the o'donovan's up thre also???
if those players mentioned do go to the boro they will be fair strong this season.

Indeed they will,Jason Hughes was there last year as well, training with them and signing with them doesn't always work out though does it.And ya Wayne did train with them,

Wayne did play with wembley at the end of schoolboys think he joined under 14 or 15. before that he played with the boro. but you are correct in saying that the only reason he didnt play with pike then was because they had no schoolboy team

Its not the first time this has happened though. I may be corrected on this but I believe the same 2 players did the same last summer. They sigend for a LOI team when junior finished and then signed back to the junior when LOI finished. They are basically playing football 12 months of the year. Dont know if there is anything wrong with that.

Carew park 3 Star rovers 0, jamie o sullivan 2 kevin barry

average performanace tonight first goal of this game was comical the ball was out on the far side the star lad doing the flag was eating a mars bar and talking to someone by the fence carew player stopped turned around and saw no flag crossed the ball for jamie to volley home he then puts up the flag LOL.
2up at half time jamie scored his second a cracker in the 2nd half great move leading up to it.

Re the first goal: In fairness everyone stopped assuming the ref would blow his whistle for a throw in as everyone in the ground could see it was out bar the ref.
Yer second goal was a keeper error from us and in fairness he doesnt make many mistakes, but should have held the shot but for K.Barry to knock it in to an open goal.
Yer 3rd goal.....imo 3 keepers wouldnt have saved it.

That said I dont think ye had many more chances, and as we didnt take ours (hitting the woodword twice), then its always gonna come back to haunt us.
We are down 4 or 5 players at the moment and the sooner we get them back the better we'll be.

Best of luck to Carew for the season!

We had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the last ten mintues, Ref a joke but we wouldnt have a game if it wasnt for them i suppose. We lost our captain early on and Shane brynes early in second half which looked quite nasty. Hope both make speedy recoveries..

Stamping on sville player in a challenge?you never said that same sville player nearly broke Alans leg in the same challenge that he was booked for and was also a pike free,if ye decide to come out of yere half at some stage this season ye might have an auld shot on target.

Regardless of the tackle .. Do you not think a stamp deserves a red card.. Can't retaliate.. If can't have been that bad a tackle if he was still standing to stamp on a fella.. Typical of you with your smart comments.. Summerville are working hard to improve club and you just knock them.. Call yourself a soccer fan

not a good result for either side....wouldn't agree balla should have won handy.
probably shaded it though, and under the circumstances fairview will probably be the slighly happier getting a point, with a goal so close to full time

Hightackle--Ok first of all Lee didnt sign with Fairview so they havn't got him regraded. Secondly our A side has about 19 players, and thirdly our B side had 16 togged out last night winning 2-1 away to Hospital, 2nd win on the bounce. Cheers for the concern.
