pike will win the f a i if they play like they can i rest my case .

They could well do so. this could be the best thing to happen them in their quest for the FAI.Can't help noticing all the 2-4am posts - after drowning their sorrows.
St.Michaels were very good and Pike will never play as bad I think. If both get past the semi's it will not be a 5-1 scoreline to either.

The four semi-finalists in the F.A.I. Junior Cup were playing in the second round of the F.A.I. Senior Cup this week-end. New Ross Celtic travelled to Rockmount and beat the high-flying Munster Senior League side by 4-1. Sherriff Utd travelled to another Munster Senior League side, College Corinthians, and won 1-0. Pike Rovers travelled to another top Munster Senior League side, Avondale Utd, and drew 1-1. St.Michaels Tipperary were the only casualties as they went down at home to Leinster Senior League kingpins, Crumlin Utd, by 2-0. The third round draw will include the Airtricity League teams.

Good luck to all 4 sides left in the competition. I'm gonna go for a Pike/St.Michaels double and hopefully make it an all Munster final.

I heard St Micks could've been 3/4 up at half time, but that New Ross were well on top in 2nd half and deservedly equalised, New Ross had a man sent off in the 90th minute.

I was at the game and Longshanks does a fair summary above. St Michaels much the better in the first half but Celtic could have won it in the second half and scored a great goal. Down to 10 men it was always going to be tough in extra time against a team of St Michaels quality. A great run for Celtic this year in the competition and hopefully the first of many. Never got the credit they deserved but St Michaels know they were in a game today. Best of luck to them in the final and roll on North End on Wednesday for Celtic with the 3rd round of the FAI Senior Cup still to come. Well done lads and hard luck today!

there is sure to be alot of crap spoken about the final before it happens, posts like the one you responded to may not be from real pike fans so could be taken with a pinch of salt.
I'm sure no real fans will will be giving st micks anything but the respect they deserve and rightly so after the munster junior result. The fai offers them a chance to redeem themselves and prove it was an off day that day but the game should be a cracker and anything can happen in a one off as was already proven

Well done to both sides for making it to the final everyone's been waiting for.Should be a cracker.Let's hope the FAI have a bit of common sense and play the game in Cahir and not Turners Cross like last season.

I disagree. This is a massively exciting final - I know people from clubs across the country who want to see the game. Cahir does not have the capacity to cope I fear. Turners cross pitch would be better too.

Cahir would be a good venue alright, i can imagine it been absolutely packed which would create a savage atmosphere. Alot of neutrals like myself wouldnt bother goin if it was turners cross.

I think Cahir is currently undergoing renovations and may not be available. Looks like Turners Cross on May 22nd but nothing definite yet.

I think some of the pike fans and limerick guys have been really inciteful and talked a lot of sense over the last few weeks but surely an idiot like this sickens ye as well? like what kind of a fool would post that during a semi final? it simply stuns me the low level of inteligence that this guy has,a semi final of an fai and he tells us a side are comfy,it beggars believe!!!!

Incredible game, pike can count their lucky stars, fair play to Kavanagh for teo great penalties and Aherne for the winner, excellent penalties under the circumstances and fai play to the keeper for his save as Pike looked down and out

This is similiar to the talk last season ( Pike unbeatable etc ,until Carrick sorted that) Now it seems St Michaels have won Munster cup before final is even played. They are without doubt deserving favourites, but this is most disrespectfull but typical of some blinkered supporters.

ok chilax this is my interpitation of where the 2 big cups are going and nothing else and am i not entitled to an opionion after a long season,i still reckon munster junior to st micks and who knows about the fai.if they dont win munster no doubt yee will let me know.

Yes, Carrick sorted Pike out in their own backyard as well. Three one up and Pike players discussing who was going to be man of the match until Carrick scored two in the last seven minutes and the rest is history.
Once again Carrick go into Saturdays final as rank outsiders and ,as you say, deservedly so .

Lads im amazed Pike are favorites for the final,Saints destroyed them 5-1 and that even flattered Pike it could have been 7 or 8 and Pike are still leaking goals, another 3 on Sunday, they cant defend for nuts obviously and we all know Saints are the kings of defending, just cannot see how Pike could possibly win this game

Just want to say no genuine St. Michaels supporters will be coming on here saying comments like that. Same for MJF next weekend. This FAI final is a huge game for both teams and anybody coming on here saying things like above are not proper St. Micks fans or Pike fans. Enough talk was done before MJ semi final and that did neither team no good. virtual paper never refused ink as they say! what a day 22nd May in Cork is going to be for both sets of fans.

100% agree it will be much closer but cant understand how Pike are so poor at the back after all the players they have signed, conceded 4 to Carrick in last yrs Munster semi,5 to Saints in this yrs semi,3 on sunday,2 up in Athenry,it must be a huge concern to them but you have to admire their ability to score goals and resilience
