Alan Barry put Pike 1 up with a good right footed shot across the keeper in off the post. Keith Harnett made it 2 with probably the goal of the game, Cross from Borris Hartnett came across goal and flicked his header near post past the keeper. 2-0 Half time. Took both teams along time to settle in the first half, Pike had a few chances and took 2, don't think from my memory that Fairview had a decent chance first half.
All changed around second half, Fairview got a goal via a Chucka free kick to pull one back, Pike held tough and managed to grab a goal against the run of play from a Hartnett header again. Took the wind out of the Fairview sails a small bit I believe. Then McGarry tacked on a very unlucky OG, the keeper getting caught out of position. 4-1 Pike. Game over really. J.Grant pulled one back, but Pike ran out the last 2-3mins for the 4-2 win. As I said previously and which wasn't meant as a slight, I believe it's the shortest reign of FAI champions in the competition, taking into account the final was on alot later than usual last season as well.

I cant see the view beating Pike in any games this season, I have to say the view were terrible or pike outclassed them either 1 or the other, fairs play to pike best of luck in the rest of the fai, hope ye win it. it looked to me as if the view were afraid of pike to day, did anyone else think that.

it was a dull affair to say the least...fairview had some players that just werent good enough..tommy barrett and kelliher are overated imo..grant should have been starting without a doubt.fairview had ten subs and apart from grant they were afraid to put on any one of them...gavin o shea not up to standard either...sayin that i cannot see pike winning the fai this season..

enjoyed the game but must say very disappointed with fairview, thought they really poor especially in the 1st half.agree with posters on the front two,had no pace or control to trouble pike and looked unfit to me,was,n grant playing all along.views midfield totally outclassed bar a spell in the 2nd half .big call by pike to leave out enright, but they have real quality in their squad.view might have had 10 subs but most not up to it.btw fairview fai youth champs had they any in their 21 today?is it true fairviews manager was,n there,i thought purcell was the boss.
views manager was away at stag think that was more important?

Shortest reign of FAI Cup champions ever?!
As a neutral with no affiliation to any Limerick club, I think this is an unfair comment. Whether it was for a month, three months or a year, the record books will show 2010 F.A.I. Junior Cup winners were Fairview Rangers.

no there was none of the youth team last year in the panel for today..think its tough on the young lads coming through seeing fairview signing so many players and not giving them a chance, purcell was on the sideline today but stewie fitz is the manager and jason was only giving a hand

Whats your problem exactly? The man asked for a summary, I gave him one.
And I don't think Rooney will be in Pike's range with the amount of "Supporters" slipping in the golf course side. A few got mightily insulted when asked to contribute.
heard rumour last night regional looking at objection

was at the match and i have to say views managment team got there team sheet all wrong how in gods name can anyone start tommy barret and robbie kellegher up front instead of grant and darren o sullivan the pike back 4 had a walk in the park again them. i know daz had been injuried but i was told he was fit and ready to play everyone at that game could see the wrong strikers were picked for the view. pike out classed them all over the field and IMO they will take alot of stopping this season they have wayne colbert to come into that team aswell massve massive player.
i must say one thing you have to give view big credit everyone of them came in to the pike club for a few drinks after the match would pike of done that if they lost away to the view not a chance it just shows you the class of fairview as a club.
heard the midfield for view o shea, quinn+o brian were poor + doyle was shocking how did mc,garry play?

Wouldn't be the FAI without a Limerick team throwing a spanner in the works.

who in gods name selected tommy barrett and kelleher to play upfront against one of the best defences in town? not one bit of pace between them and it was clear to see when o sullivan and grant came on they were creating a lot more problems for pikes defense. only 2 players really performed for fairview yesterday. harmon and chucka, other than that they were very ordinary.

Fair play too Pike yesterday..completely deserved their win. I found the match a little flat for what was involved.. How P.Maloney cant get a cap is beyond me.... ran the view ragged....a word of prasie to the groundstaff...excellent job with the pitch and i like the painting of the railings...Also a word of praise for the officials excel job by them..

Quinn was very poor but then again iv never really seen him do much in other games,McGarry had one hell of a nightmare,Moloney out ran ,out muscled, and out smarted him all over the park, his comicial OG was just the iceing on a shocking performance
It was like watching boys v Men all over the field

because he dives all over pitch pretends he is injuried constantly he spends more time looking at the crowd playing up to them plus he moans and moans like a woman
all that is noted by irish manager

Lads , i was at the game and thought6 Pike could have been more up in the first half and Fairview just launched balls everywhere, Thought Barrett at least tried to get on it and in behind them but he did not have the pace to trouble them . Thought Fairview were on top in the second half when they started to play to the strikers feet, and they in turn brought the midfield into it , Pike seemed to be sitting back a little but then the 3rd goal against the run of play imo killed the game off. Thought Alan Barry pa maloney and Mullins were very good for Pike, could not really pick out anyone for the view, Pike looked a lot fitter more organised and hungrier for it. Hopefully now they can go on and do well

Was at the game, better team won, Fairview looked tired and didn't trouble pike down either wing, i have to say one thing i though the referee was fantastic, have seen him on the line at limerick matches but he controlled the game brilliantly yesterday. He took no crap from either team and left alot go and it made for a better game

views manager was away at stag think that was more important? think tah its fair enough to miss a junior game if you are at one of your best mates stag that is probably booked about a year . dont know everyone is making a big deal about this . Pike were the better team yesterday and the manager im sure picked that team so probably doesent make a difference if he was there or not

sure the view don't beat them often to give them a chance of that...ha ha...also rumour had it that they had plenty of money as there was nobody taking money on the golf course side...lol
on a serious note, great result for pike, hope they do really well this year....

I could be wrong but as far as i know the last group of players released by Limerick under 20s have not yet got their clearance back on their transfers to play in the F.A.I. so their all illegal unless their their transfers are stamped.

Players only need to get there forms stamped if they have played 5 or more League of Ireland or A Championship matches after the 31st of August, or they were on a professional contract. The player involved doesnt fall into either of these categories, so he was fine to play.

If it was a league game he would have been cleared to play but not FAI. It's 14 days for an FAI game. Surprised Janesboro wouldn't have known this. If he signed last week from Limerick 20's and played last Sunday then Janesboro were illegal.
