two 5th round ties to be played this weekend:
Westport Utd v City Utd
Manor Rangers v Athenry
the Sligo/Leitrim v Mayo Oscar Traynor game that was postponed on Sunday is now fixed for Sunday 6th Feb so that could have an effect on some 6th round ties being played that day

congrats that was a long spin for Lagan, carrick is about 40 mins south of kilkenny city so another long haul journey for ye is in order

tbh i know very little about freebooters and their standard, but carrick are winning without playing well at the moment which is a good sign we are struggling with injuries but hopefully they are starting to clear up and we'll have a decent sized squad to pick from for the visit of lagan

Pike are worthy favourite but 2/1, 5/2 is too skimpy.....
There are 6 teams already in the 6th round with home draws: Carrick Utd 12/1, St Michaels 14/1, Rock Celtic 25/1, Carrick Rovers 50/1, Cavan Town 66/1, Sandyhill 66/1.
I'd say Carrick at 12/1 offer the best value bet at the moment?!?!

Anybody know anything about Castleisland????
they are a good side with a lot of gaa footballers playing including mike mccarthy.we played and beat them last year but it was a tough tough match.

ya it cost the club 1500 for the carraige for players committee etc(and thats the second time).. and roughly 90 supporters payed 35e each with no refunds!!

Avenue well worth the win but Ballina were truly shocking, definately looked like a team playing out of season.
poor results all round for mayo teams bar westport who got a win. these results would suggest that being out of season is major dissadvantage for mayo sides in fai cup

Ya they are gone to arbritration. The balla match won't be played for other 5 to 6 weeks, just like pike last year. Fai are the one's who most do something about the rules, same thing every year. Not fair on the teams like balla.

yeah call the league and the clowns will sort it for you... heard a few teams earlier in season already requested b teams games to be called off when A Team playing fai.. refused point blank by league but then again certain clubs in limerick have no problem getting games called of by making a quick phone call ..:mad:

no joy so far with ldmc.will wait another while before i slate them but its not looking good.also i agree certain teams make phone calls and get what they need.the so called smaller clubs just get refused point blank.

That will be cancelled at tonight i say at the junior council meeting if the club requested it.Best of luck anyway on Sunday

we already requested it and were told point blank no.hopefuly they will see sense.
