if anything pike have a poor squad a good 10 11 players in there last too games against fairview and nenagh were very poor a shadow of last years team
couldn back them

The players that cant get in the Pike side at the moment would walk on to most teams in the country....They have a very good 14/15 players plus what players they'll sign in the next few weeks (some of which won't be cup tied from the FAI)

Pike are a very short price if i was on betfair i might lay them. The weight of expectation might be too much to bear, but then again the way some of ye are talking about squads and new signings they should win the fai senior let alone the junior.

Anyone know when the 6th round draw is taking place?

Hi lads if someone has the draw for the 6th round from tonight would they mind posting it. Cheers

Draw was made alright. Anybody got it? Heard a few of the ties but wont say anything until official word comes through. Cannot understand why F.A.I. dont release it when drawn. Why the secrecy?

Cant find any sign of draw (6th round - supposedly made tonight) anywhere on the Net.
If anybody out there has the full draw - please post it here.

If you cant post full draw - can one find out what lies in store for winners of Ballyscadden/Tolka FC vs Springfield (5th Round tie!)

Regards

Hi lads is this famous draw anywhere to be seen, senior blue if you have it would you mind posting it. Think its a disgrace that the fai are not posting it immediately on their site considering that alot of teams are going to travel considerable distances and need as much time as possible to organise themselves, not to mention giving players who might be working weekends the chance to get time off work.

I know its an 'if' at this stage, but if in tie 7. Kinsale beat Belurgan( a long trip) and Gweedore come through the other side of the draw they will be left with an awful long trip. I wonder what is the longest trip that has been made in the Junior Cup, or what would be the longest possible one?

Was that Iorras?? we went to play Kilmore in Black Sod Bay in the Connacht Cup a couple of years back on a dark snowy December Sunday, and we were only travelling from Sligo took us 4 hours to get there and more to get back(wee wee stops!!). Could only imagine travelling from Waterford, getting to Castlebar and thinking you were nearly there

Pike have played a few times up that in the last few years like Iorras, Ballygawley and Redcastle. We went up overnight and came back down straight away but stopping in a few pubs as you do.

Iorras travelled to Kinsale couple years ago, pitch in one of the most scenic spots in ireland overlooking Kinsale town, nice spot and lovely gang of players and people longest journey we ever took, with a couple of the short pits stops took us over 8 hours to get home,

not completly true pike spent a few hours in the local pub with the redcastle players and supporters which was appreciated by redcastle.
considering the long journey home you had, unlike another team i could mention.
gweedore celtic are out of cup so the longest distance any team would have to travel would be to milford utd.
good luck pike in the rest of the comp hope you win it.

all the Pike lads stopped in our local too, and left us a nice plaque that is hanging in the boozer. Sooner or later they will win it, probably sooner.

ST Kevins have appealed their expulsion from the CUP.So there could be farther delays to the already behind great competition

cufc champions
13/01/2011, 4:48 PM
St Kevins are entitled to appeal the decision so the onus should be on the fai junior council to resolve this matter asap to avoid the debacle the has being seen in this competition over the last few years, the appeal should be heard this week and decision made on the night and let the delay be as minimal as possible

pike clearly favourates but not worth backing at such small odds, maybe rock celtic @ 20/1 or saint peters @ 33/1 worth an outside punt, douglas hall and kinsale going well too down in cork but couldnt see either beating the likes of saint michaels or carrick if they were drawn away to play them. if i had to put on just one bet it would be carrick each way. there having a nightmare with injuries but seem to be playing badly and still winning which is a sign of a great team

St peters changed management during the week so i think that may effect them, they also went out of the Leinster cup last weekend. Crazy short price for Pike, not worth backing at 2/1 for junior football. Home draws will play a big part. Killester have ben consistently good. Clubs have more games to play than others. Westport and Athenry have not got to round 5 yet so thats a disadvantage. No sign of City United in the betting?

cufc champions

2-1 on pike is crazy price in junior football, cup football could go anyway although going on last last years munster junior semi final they are very strong in all areas, i can see why they are favs but i wouldnt be backing anyone @ 2s until the semis or final

Longshanks
14/01/2011, 1:24 PM
Cant argue with Pike being the favourites, but 2/1 is very skimpy. Killester @ 7/1 is interesting, but they may have an appeal to get through yet. Sheriff @ 8/1 looks iffy too, their tie(14.) looks very congested. Carrick at 12's and St Micheals at 14's look very reasonable, both have already won their 5th round games and have home draws in the 6th round.

I hear that Castlebar are pulling out of the 'A' league. Would they be able to re-grade players for the Junior Cup?? could be worth a sneaky e/w bet at a big price if they were

timberlegs would tramore be as good as carrick i have never seen them play? 16/1 is short enough odds for a team that havent really done much in fai over past few years, clonmel town would be far better bet in my opinion at 16/1 great cup team and are going well again this season

tramore have alot of young ex waterford utd players grinncel mccarthy rockett grant the play a lovely brand of passing football but some times they fail to put away chances, if they get a run they could be very dangerous.
