FAI Umbro Junior Cup 4th Round:

Knockavilla Celtic 2 Springfield A 3 (AET). - match played in Springfield pitch on Sunday morning after Knockavilla Pitch deemed unplayable on Saturday!

Springfield claim the scalp of another Premier team in cup competitions.

Game of 3phases really,
First Half, Springfield 2up within in first 15mins and really should have bagged at least another 2or3 before half time.
Second Half, Knockavilla score immediately from kick off and den scramble an equaliser with literally last kick of the game after goalmouth scramble.
Extra Time, Springfield battled and grinded out deserved winner.

Springfield now away to Tolka Rovers!?!(Dublin) in next round - tough game expected.

6. Nenagh FC v Pike
11. St Michaels v Newcastle West
14. St Kevins v Ballynanty
15. Carrick Rovers v Carrigtwohill FC

Sligo/Leitrim Roscommon(City v Boyle, Manor v Ballymoe) 4th round ties are down for 2nd Jan, outstanding 3rd round Connacht Cup games down for 9th Jan. Dunno what is happening in Mayo, but could be on the 2nd too

It right alright, I'd say judging by the 5th round draw and the recent bad spell of weather in Leinster that there could be some 3rd round ties(even 2nd round) still outstanding:

Monksland FC or Esker Celtic or Chanell SCC or Duleek FC or Kilbarrack Utd v Moville FC
Monaghan Utd v Ratoath Harps or Willow Park FC or Rathfarnham Punters FC or Pioneers FC

are examples, unless some of these have been played and not reported on here.

This weeks 3rd Round Fixtures

Monksland V Chanel
Duleek V Kilbarrack

2 Winners meet on probably 2nd Jan with winners of that tie playing at home to Moville in 5th Round
If snow arrives 3rd round games wont be played in Leinster til middle of Jan at earliest, causing a huge backlog alright!

it might not be held for a while republican there are a lot of ties still to be played in earlier rounds. i think a few years ago for latter stages of competion the draw used be done on a sunday morning on 2fm which was not bad idea in fairness

Fine clubhouse with a fine astro setup.... if you consider the pitch level you need to visit specsavers...surface okay...goalmouths usually poor but pitch is on a slope...

Yes Killester have lodged an objection against a Kevins player Derek Treston who signed from Baldoyle on the 1st day of transfer window, the 1st of Dec.The game was played on the 12th of Dec,so he was probably signed 11 days and registered 11 days. The Rule book says u have to be registered with your club 10 days for the FAI Junior Cup,but apparently it means 10 working days so he was ineligable to play in FAI as only 8 days had elapsed. It is supposed to be in the Rule book but Im not 100% sure.Protest was lodged last Tuesday,so I will post when I hear more news!!!!!!!!!

cant see it been resolved for the 2nd ( i hope im wrong) with xmas holidays new years eve etc etc as we seen over the last few years with objections they tend to take a mim of 5 or 6 weeks depending on how far killester are willing to go with this. the prob is the affect it has on teams like balla and i think clomel were left for about 6 weeks in the fai last season not knowing what was going on every season there is objections going in all over the place is ruining the comp

Your about the only person would say otherwise. Looking down through the list of Teams remaining and it's very tough to look past Pike. And Not playing well?? They won 3-0 on Sunday. What else is expected? A 10-0 hammering is it or ? And Narrowly beating the FAI Champions in the Munster Junior Cup, Can you point out where that's bad?? Back up your point if your going to insist on making absurd comments then yes?
