Madden has had 5 goals in 4 games in pre-season. Going on the posters on our mb it looks like it will be touch and go between him and Raff for the starting spot for the spingal game.

Has Aaron Greene made the starting line-up, or played for you yet?

He's featured a fair bit in pre season, Fenlon has said he expects him to put pressure on Brennan for a start on the left wing. Don't think he has signed yet, reliant on us sending players out on loan.

Any word on who might be for the chop? And is this to stay within the 65%?

Would say McEvoy will go out on loan and that its to stay within our approved budget which last I heard was aiming for way below 65%

McEvoy played for us against Cork City but not against Fingal...We have being linked to getting a player from bohs on loan so assume its him..

Looking at that Shels v Bohs video, Shels look very weak at the back. Could rely a lot on Deleany again this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure you will) but is it not the club that owns the player who pays the wages and not the club who is getting the player on loan?
If so, how does this impact on your budget for players salaries?

You're right, but the club who gets the player on loan would be paying loan fees and these should be deductible against the overall budget.

Quite the opposite, videos can be deceiving, by in large, we've been excellent at the back in pre-season, much better than last season. What you'd have seen in the video in terms of poor defending was the second string that came on in the 2nd half. We've only conceded 4 goals in 5 pre-season games, and our opponents were Bohs, Rovers, Dundalk, Drogheda and PFAI Select (made up of alot of top players). Our problems so far have been the opposite, putting the ball in the net, we've only scored 2 in 5, but hopefully the signing of Forsyth can help us there.

Rumour is that McEvoy is going on loan to Shels so it can free up money for Greene,Mark Hughes has also gone on loan to Shels as well so its thought that them 2 wages can seal the Arron Greene deal

Not a friendly as such but I can't see anywhere better to put it, Fingal beat Longford 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Hynes scored for Town and Zayed for Fingal. Leinster Senior Cup game

What were Fingal like?

Wasn't there myself, I was just getting updates from Twitter. We were good value for the draw by all accounts, not sure if that reflects badly on them or well on us though!. Martinho was there and a few others I think.

We played alright with Longford putting up a good show. I see them being in the top 5 this year.

Harps won 3-1 against Cockhill Celtic

Goals from Stephen McLaughlin, Johnny Lafferty and Davitt Walsh.

That's 2 wins and 2 draws thus far in pre-season.

Next up was due to be Galway United in Terryland Park on Saturday at 5pm but that looks doomed as Terryland is not available 2 nights running for Galwa so the game looks likely to be switched to Finn Park on Sunday.

We played very well, Defence is so organised this year, Burnsey and Breen are playing very well together. Gaynor is doing really well on the wing and is goign to score a bucket load of goals this year. Melligan had a brilliant game. Monaghan picked up foru injuries, 3 looked very bad, Bermingham went off holding his thigh so coudl eb out for quite a while. That pitch is awful as ever. Never seen the ball bobble so much, players couldnt even dribble the ball forward.

Dundalk are showing a lot of potential in pre-season - in 7 games, won 6 drew 1, with five clean sheets, 10 goals scored and 2 conceeded.

Although pre-season stats and form mean very little, the style of play is pleasing on the eye and the defense looks very solid. With Faz to be added to the attack, new striker Sam Malsom only signed yesterday, and JJ Melligan only featuring for part of 2 of the games there is still a lot more to come.

I can't wait for Bray next week and Drogheda the following week at Oriel

A good result for Waterford. We only drew with them 2 weeks ago although we should of hammered them, played them off the park.

Looks like Fingal may not be as good as some thought they would be.

I'll be honest, Waterford deserved the win and scored 3 good goals and we were lucky to get the peno. There was too many heavy tackles going in from both sides considering it was ment to be a friendly and we can and have played far better than that and we need to step up a few gears come friday or we will be slaughtered by Bohs.

As posted in another thread, Greg O'Halloran and Mark McNulty have signed

Aside from that no one yet. George is in talks and would be a great player to have but you'd understand anyone not agreeing to play for the team for what we are offering.
I've been corrected by Micls as I type, gate split tomorrow after costs.
