Barrett cannot do the Job so he did not apply. he offered to help out with training like he has done for the last 2 couple of years . And as far as i know thery had trial games and gave everyone a fair go

no alan barry or shane clarke, maloney would do all the things they would, clarke to lazy just ask pat scully, and they dont have the pace,so a pat moloney and christy doyle partnership would be great

Whatever about alan barry. Maybe he's the wrong side of 30 and not as good as he was but your leaving shane clarke out of the squad altogether?? It's between Shane and Pa for the best striker in town. Surley at 19 he would be in the squad. Not sure about the lazy thing either. Maybe that was Scully's fault???

pa maloney is the the best in town imo,and proved that last year himself and clarke wouldnt suit each other, thats why id have doyle with him,the lad has bags of pace and talent, shane is good dont get me wrong and am not trying to start a feud but if i were the ot manager that would be my team

I've seen quite a few games this year so here's my five cents worth

1.Glasheen or Neville, Neville still learning so just give nod to Glasheen
2.Aherne/Dunphy/Corbett, Dunphy probably most natural defender, Aherne attacks more and Corbett has improved alot over two years, tough one
3.McGarry/ Sheehan, only seen Sheehan twice this year and people say not playing as well so McGarry is probably most consistent
4. Pa Mullins - quality player
5. Brian Buckley / Paul Finucane - Mullins should be starting so between these two, whichever is most interested in playing
6. O Connell, lanky midfielder with Regional, one of better players around
7. Kenehan, young lad scoring alot of goals with carew and saw him two weeks ago, very lively
8. Aido Fitzsimmons - under rated, might be too similar to O Connell but is very strong
9. Shane Clarke - gets goals
10. Pat Moloney / Alan Barry - i'd start just one of these, everyone will have their own opinion
11. Tony Fahy - seems to be scoring more than he did last year and is under rated

There are a couple of young lads with Mungret too in centre midfield, one used to play with Limerick, haven't seen many others teams outside top 5-6 but there could be quite a good team there if they get the right balance

Surely Mick Aherne is a shoe in at right full? He has been the most consistent in that position over the past three seasons, gets forward, is quick and scores goals. If Paul Finucane gets enough game time under his belt, he should also be a first choice.

good attacking fullback ahearne for sure only problem is defensively one of the poorest in that position.buckley, mullins, mcgarry way better centre halfs than finucane and t.clarke not miles off it either.

lads i think no matter what team is picked, their will always be good players left out. for example, a number of different players could play in the back four

Right Full: Dunphy, Aherne, Corbett
Left full: Mcgary, Sheehan, Hanley, Dodo
Centre Back, Clarke, Chucka, Mullins, Finucane

the same can be said for the strikers, Moloney, Barry, Clarke, Doyle

Agree about Mike Ahern with Joesoap..Looking at the striker clarke by far the best around ,, No mention of Barrett.. watched a few View games this year and he was definatly their best striker...holds up the ball well and brings the midfield into the game. David Dunphy best midfielder at the mo and scoring a lot of goal ..mullins and buckley best c backs in town and T clarkle is a decent cb too.James Hayes playing very well for boro too he looked very sharp against wembly last week and he has frightening pace.Better option than doyle in my opinion, although i would have Doyle in the squad great pace also
