Thats rubbish talk - Fairview have no problem whatsoever with there players involved. Its actually the players themselves that do not want to play.RIGHT.....its rubbish,.....not one fairview player wants to be involved and thats been the case for the last 3 maybe 4 seasons....amazing that.

mark sheehan didn't have a problem being on it when he was with regional:confused:
I was talking to someone close to fairview club in the know and to set things straight, Colm Heffernan withdrew because of work committments, Mark Sheehan got injured last week against Glenview, Mike Ryan is out last 3 weeks with hamstring injury and will be out for another 3-4 weeks at least, Christy Doyle is injured also with calf and ankle problems and Brian Buckley withdrew before squad was published as works in Dublin.
i see people jumping on the band wagon as usual on this site and dont even know the facts.

Of the 4 Fairview players picked Mike Ryan and Christy Doyle are currently injured and Colm Heffernan and Mark Sheehan do not want to play in it.Chucka had infromed Martin Reddan prior to the team being announced that he too did not want to play in it.I repeat what wasa said above in that Fairview have no problems with there players playing Oscar Traynor.

fair play to ldmc for getting the fixture played. terrible conditions and it showed in the performance. team selection baffled everyone with whom i spoke.Pity it was the match that G.Flynn(irish manager) came to look at a few players. fought back bravely after conceeding 2 very sloppy goals, 1st one a real schocker. have to say cant figure out how the ref played 8 mins added time, maybe geezer should be rename S.A.F.

Nobody is going to be suspended for not wanting to play Oscar Traynor. It's an invitational team, it's not compulsary

Limerick DL 3-2 Kerry DL
From a Kerry point of view its disapointing and to throw away a 2-1 lead with 10 min left but fair play to Limerick for keep going at it to the final whistle. Limerick were by far the better footballing side but i think a draw would of been a fair result.
Its also baffling that the referee played 55 minutes in the second half, the ireland manger showed the kerry manager his watch after the game and it was 55 and he didnt look too pleased!!
Its hard to pick limericks best player becoz no1 really stood out but there right winger caused kerry problems down the left .
For Kerry there centre half brosnan and right back conway were excellent.
Best of luck for the rest of the competition

given they were behind twice a great result for limerick, some strange decisions in the lineup and at least 2 maybe 3 players very unfit and in poor condition.,also looked like only 15 players togged out.kerry deserved a draw and would certainly have a gripe about the added time at the end of the match,i saw the referee saying there were two mins injury time left after the 90,also limk first goal looked offside.no great performances but i thought moloney did well when he came on.only need a point in cork now.

ah shame that,i think that means they're out of the competition
why the poor turn out,i suppose there was more committee members on the bus than players, out for another freebie no doubt
oscar
09/12/2009, 10:30 PM
no freebie tonite, well not for the players anyway, they were back on the bus and on the way home straight after the game with empty stomachs:eek:some of these guys went straight from work and this is how the ldmc treat them, shocking but typical

just heard from someone at the game.seems the whole thing was a shambles.only 12 players including 2 keepers,no med kit or water bottles, lost 2nil to a team that had to win 2nil,manager and captain both sent off during the game.embarrassing night for limerick by all accounts.

ah thats even worse then what i heard, the ldmc should be ashamed of themselves

i wouldn't put it past them and i wouldn't be surprised if none of the lads make themselves available next year, maybe the fairview lads were right not to bother with it

If anyone can name the last 5 OT winners I'll eat my hat ( big hat! ) .The OT comp in its current format has too many games. It should be straight knockout. Hence the lack of interest. Will anything be done about the players that didnt turn up?

High achievement can only take place in the framework of high expectation and with the appointment of Reddan? well everyone rises to their level of incompetence.

OT total shambles from start to finish - wouldnt totally blame manager seeing that hes not a first cousin of manager to begin with - ask summerville or look at last time he was OT manager - If suitable canidates dont apply like happened this year LDMC should approach people who would do good job if still cant find someone then just forget about it - clubs cant be happy with players dragged down to cork midweek for that sort of crap - cant believe ten outfield players no food on way home - embarrasing for limerick

agreed.seems to have taken a major step back this year, should not be like that,it looked like things were being done right the last few seasons, the carry on with this years setup could set the whole thing back even futher.

Limerick were a disgrace in Cork last wednesday night. It doesn't say much for a 'sports mad city' like you claim to be, that only 12 players (2 keepers)could be rounded up for a trip to Cork. If you lot are not interested in the OT Cup then don't bother entering in future please. If you do enter then please respect your players that do show up by at least providing a first aid kit for them. Sometimes the truth hurts - Limerick soccer has a glittering past - Eoin Hand, Al Finucane, the Hanrahans etc. If last wed night was the pinacle of amateur soccer in Limerick then a lot of questions need to be asked.
BTW - Limerick were unlucky not to score, and even a 2-1 loss would have put them into the qf. Better for the competition that you went out though. :ball:
