The main issue is whether players make themselves available or not

Think Shane and Pat Moloney would be a very good partnership! That lad Christy Doyle looked very impressive the other night on the left wing and has an eye for goals so he would be a good option there.

it going to be a very strong team this year no matter whos on it...

lads i definetly think our keeper robert egan is the best in town at the moment and hopefuly because we are one of the so called smaller teams that martin and lads dont overlook him.

As far as im aware the group is the same as last year with reversing fixtures

Limerick vs Kerry
Kerry vs Cork AUL
Cork Aul vs Limerick

Cork AUL won this last year and were bang on average when i saw them play Kerry and beat them 3-2 in Cork.

Kerrys Team will be well weakend with at least 6 playing in the A Championship with dynamos so they will be depleated.

I fancy Limerick to top the group and go through.

The first game of the group is this Friday night in Mounthawk PK as Kerry Host Cork.

IMO the apppointement of Reddan as manager of limerick is shocking, will offer nothin to the set up and once again the thing will peter out into a sham again.
Players didnt want to play last yr, and i cant see many wanting to play with him in charge!!

what players didnt want to play last year, surely the only person who knows that is the manager who picks or doesnt pick certain players,in fairness to the previous mgt team their tenure was hardly a sham,by all accounts they were very professional.did reddan manage the team before...either way give the man a chance, lets see how he does.

To be honest it was run very very well the previous 2 years. Training was for 1 hour on a friday and it was excellent. 1 hour of good work with a ball and was a good run out also. No standing around/wasting time or messing like in most training. I would expect most of the squad to have said the same.....

Have played OT, under Jaws (twice), Tommy Lynch, Martin Reddan, Aidan Ryan (twice) and the setup Aidan had was miles ahead of the rest.

Best of luck to Martin and his squad for this year.

The problem is getting players that want to commit and play that are good enough for the level. Also players have to gel to become a 'team' which can be hard also. 2 years ago when we were beaten in the final it felt like playing for a club team...(if you understand what i mean)

I reckon your oscar traynor side is the team this year, the league has some seriously strong players to choose from.
What is the interest like??

I think everyone should want to represent their city to be honest!!Your really only committing to around 5/6 Sundays if the team gets far enough in the competition.

As you said getting guys to gel in time is not easy but that's what a manager is there for(a good one of course)!

Kerry 2-1 Cork AUL

Kerry are off to a good start with an average side that wanted to play for their county. Kerry led 2-0 and cork scored with a few minutes left to set up a nervy finish.

Theres alot of fresh faces on the Kerry team and will fancy their chances of getting a result when they play limerick in a few weeks.

Does anyone know when Limerick are playing their opening game against cork?

Just seen squad there, few eye openers, there is no way Ballynanty deserve five players on it, i'm sure Janesboro and Regional will feel agrieved by the amount they got on anel seeing as they are two of top three teams. I think the management team will need to get off their barstools and see more players coz at lest 10 of that squad have no interest in playind while a few more aren't even playing well. Surprised Tony Fahy, Ado Fitzsimmons,Eoin Hanrahan, Mick Ahern and Kieran O Connell aren't mentioned as well as certain ex league of Ireland Fairview players:eek:

Pike. maloney, hartnett, barry, mullins and mcgarry and neville

balla spud, quinn, dunphy, daly, and byrnes

View: heffernan, doyle, sheehan and ryan

Boro: s.clarle and t clarke

Aisling: scanlon and goggins

Regional. finnucane

Carew Maher and whelan

I sawMartin Reddan at the view v boro touhy game and i hope he did not pick T. clarke on that performance cos he got roasted by Barrett and Grant.Seen him play a couple of games since and he has been decent. surprised at daly being ahead of Buckley and finnucane and also spud where does he play these days? Last time was C,Back. Alan Finnucane might surprise a few but he is still a very good player. Standouts that are missing for me are Mulcahy from Kilmallock definatly the best midfielder around imo and also the obvious chucka, (maybe he doesent wanna play) Hayes with the boro, colm carroll, jeffrie judge , mike ahern but then again thats just my opinion. each to there own. It looks to me that he has went mainly with a big Physical aggressive side but they definatley could do well . my starting team from that group would be

1. Neville
2.Ryan Rb
3.Sheehan LB
4.Goggin cb
5.Mcgarry cb
6.Quinn cm
7.Heffernan R/w

pure disgrace again lads that the country teams were overlooked.absoulutley shocking as there is at least two of our lads more than capable of getting on the squad.next year i will pay the taxi fare for the manager to come out and have a look.

i played with johnny at schoolboy level and i can tell you he can play anywhere on the pitch and i mean any position, anywhere at the back anywhere in midfield he played centre forward schoolboys AND he wasnt a bad keeper either thats why he should be on the oscar traynor team and starting let alone be in the squad, i think its a disgrace he isnt involved,

borris and chucka should be in the squad ahead of dennis whelan and tom daly, i would even have chosen whelans team mate shane keehan ahead of him, a nice little player very fast strong for his size and WONT pull out of a challenge like dennis whelan
