no matter who he picks people will find a problem with the squad,i am surprised with a few of the selections but what will be interesting is to see how many of that squad are available for the first game ,though given that it seems there will no training it will suit fellas to just turn up and play matchs.

ya and picked a fair few bad ones.dosnt make sense.oviously he didnt scout around and watch matches like any oscar trainer manager should have done.every year the managers of the oscar trainer have their favourites and thats it.

was there not a kilmallock player on OT squad the last few years, cant think of his name but does that mean he was a favourite of the managers too coz lets face it kilmallock had a poor season last and if that manager did not scout for players how was he picked.

goggins did well when he was on it last year..
last time martin had the team he played players out of their positions so that was never a good start...

however johnny corbett should be in it....definately the bext full back in town. it is a wonder limerick have not come looking at him....

wonder what the set up will be like this year......

ya tommy heffernan was on it thats because he was spotted by aidan ryan playing interfirm.

if the manager has done his job there will be no pull outs. Aidan ryan called each player before announcing the squad to see if they were interested in playing, very sensible.

amazing he picked maher and whelan

first whelan got him out of crewe park and then maher and his cronies ran him out of summerville.. maybe there going to do the same with this team and take over the team too:eek::eek:

its all about picking the best panel of players available to him in the limerick leagues and he definetly has not done that as most people on here would agree.

Cyril Maher might be a good player for Carew but no way is he good enough to be on this team. There are alot more better players than him in his position.

Whos the manager?? Theres definetly some players missing out that i think should be on it and not trying to be biased but theres at least 3 or 4 more Kilmallock players that should be given at least a chance, and theres probaly a few more from other clubs too! Looks like the team was picked without the manager scouting around!

KilmallockYouth
20/10/2009, 7:40 PM
not all of the kilmallock players were available due to hurling commitments like last year when some didnt turn up, chris todd is still out with a broken leg isnt he?

ya theres a good few playin hurling but the minor county final is been played tomorrow night and thats the last hurling of the year for them, ya hes out until at least February but could be longer

who do you think should be on it

Kevin o donnell ,1 of the best center halfs around at this age and liam o shea , former knockaine midfielder used to play with paudie ahern and is better then paudie ahern, Gazza from Granville is also a very good player who should be on it, mange who played with granville last year ,think he plays with janesboro this year ,not sure of hes proper name

oscar
22/10/2009, 11:07 PM
mange is derek hanlon a fine player but everyone would have a different squad

Cause he's been sent off at least 5 or 6 time's last year he's attitude is all wrongAre you in DREAMLAND 5 or 6 times, You all must be talking about a different player because than the one which is playing this year for the boro wouldnt say boo to a ghost so i dont know where people are saying he is a liabilty and is a dirty player.

oscar
27/10/2009, 1:45 PM

either m.reddan is a genius or the desmond league had their 2nd team out,7NIL..very impressive scoreline.only 13 players there and no pike players....for obvious reasons but no fairview players either, only 4 clubs represented in that squad.who is keehan.

oscar

well if i know martin he'll probably go with

geezer in goals, geezer and geezer in the fullback positions, the two geezers centrehalfs, geez on the left wing, geezer on the right wing, geezer and geezer in the middle of the park, geez is a definate starter up front and the final spot is between geezer and geezer:D

not the best with names is martin:p

Lads, is it just me or does anyone else think its crazy that the LDMC expect the same Junior players to represent their county on Friday night to then go and represent their clubs in the biggest club competition in Junior football on Sunday morning (less than 40hrs later)..............

Surely it would have made more sense to at least have given those clubs with players involved Friday night the option to have a later kick off Sunday (maybe 1pm or 2pm).

If both games were "nothing to play for games" I'd say something, but both games for all players involved are massive...............

Maybe they did, can anyone confirm???

suggestion, why not make it compulsory to pick 2 players from every prem team to represent the oscar traynor team, lets be realistic here no club are going to let 6/7 players turn up and to suspend a player just because he doesnt want to play is stupid,

of course they didnt offer that would be a logical thing to do
for example the 5 balla players involved on friday have to be fit and ready to play FAI on sunday morning - would have been interesting if Balla were drawn against Pike of the View neither who have any players involved
Clubs with players in OT should be able to request the game on sunday off if they want to

Nobody is going to be suspended for not wanting to play Oscar Traynor. It's an invitational team, it's not compulsary

Cork 3-0 LDL

got a message from the manager after the game said they were 1 down after half an hour, went a man down after 40 mins when Dean Glasheen got sent off,LDL missed numerous chances in the second half and were caught on the break twice in injury time
spoke to Glash after the game said he lost his footing going into the challenge
can't remember the entire team but was something like
1 Neville
2 O'Meara
3 Mulcahy
4 Cowpar
5 Glasheen
6 Gazza
7 Mange
8 ???
9 Doona
10 ????

Thats rubbish talk - Fairview have no problem whatsoever with there players involved. Its actually the players themselves that do not want to play.
