Limerick were a disgrace in Cork last wednesday night. It doesn't say much for a 'sports mad city' like you claim to be, that only 12 players (2 keepers)could be rounded up for a trip to Cork. If you lot are not interested in the OT Cup then don't bother entering in future please. If you do enter then please respect your players that do show up by at least providing a first aid kit for them. Sometimes the truth hurts - Limerick soccer has a glittering past - Eoin Hand, Al Finucane, the Hanrahans etc. If last wed night was the pinacle of amateur soccer in Limerick then a lot of questions need to be asked.

BTW - Limerick were unlucky not to score, and even a 2-1 loss would have put them into the qf. Better for the competition that you went out though. :ball:

Who do you represent?

Thats a joke. Surely if they really needed players that bad they could have picked from outside the Premier. 12 teams in the Premier to choose from and they could only manage to get together 12 players.

looking at everyones views and comments on the game it appears to have been a major embarrassment for limerick junior soccer, hopefully the powers that be will have learned the lessons from it,this cannot be allowed to happen again.we should have no problem taking a defeat on the chin but we should have a problem with how the whole setup was firstly handled and secondly how the team was prepared,i.e.organisation,training,and simple things like med kits etc.must also mention the paper report tonight which did not refer to many of things that have occurred regarding this game, whats wrong..are they afraid to tell the real facts.hopefully things will improve for the next campaign.

the shambles of the OT this year can't be blamed on the manager, martin is a good guy and a good motivator just let down by the setup provided by the ldmc, exactly the same thing happened at summerville when he was there the guys who came in with him to organise were clowns to say the least,,martin needs help with licking arse that some junior lads in the town like to get before they'll play,,,,

why was Aidan Ryan not asked to come back in considering the excellent year he had there in 2007/2008

How is it that Aidan Ryan had such a good setup going and got things working and Reddan didn't with exactly the same backing. Lets face facts. Reddan isn't up to scratch for management.

Reddan isn't up to scratch for management.fair point that,i remember reading an article in the leader where k.hartnett said said ryan was very thorough in his preparations for the games and had all the squad training,he is supposed to be very professional in his approach so maybe reddan is.n that kind of manager, speaking of which where is ryan managing now.

having been in the team with both as managers, Aidan is a far superior manager and really motivates the team. He gets them focused before each game. He is very professional in everything he did and training was for an hour and was really good.

with Martin he got an ok bunch of lads together (a few too many friends) and more or less let them onto the pitch and do what they wanted. very little direction.

He broke his leg so doubt he's managing anyone.

What has that got to do with anything? You'll get no argument from people in the cork AUL saying that the limerick league is stronger, well me anyway. The turn out in mayfield was obviously embarassing for such a strong league. That's all. You make a stupid point that is not even relevant to the argument. This is the OSCAR TRAYNOR cup. Which by the way cork aul won last year. :ball:

Desmond League 2-0 LDL

this result means LDL fail to qualify having only 1 win from 3,its a shame that both junior and minor teams failed to get out of their group,a bit of a shake up is needed for next year as this year has been a shambles
