Encouraging vote of confidence for St Ledger

http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/st-ledger-told-irish-spot-is-his-to-lose-as-brady-sings-praises-1856205.html

The Saint isn't fully fit, been out all pre season with a thigh strain, so he will more than likely play the 1st half, as part of Sir Trapps preparations for the Cyprus game and the games against Italy and Monty.

There seems to have been a bit of confusion at the press conference today. Trapattoni originally said that Andrews would start but then later on said he wanted to give Gibson a bit more experience. He did well when he came on in Bari so it is a good chance to give him a run.

The Gibson in for Andrews thing is a bit bizarre, particularly after he had named Andrews initially.

As an aside, Scotland are away to Norway tomorrow night, a draw here would be very good from our point of view in respect of the second place playoff positions.

Gibson won't get much first team football with his club, whereas Whelan and Andrews will possibly play 90 min this weekend.

Better to give each of those guys a half each and let Gibson get a full 90 under his belt (remember that 4 players in friendlies have to play 90 minutes under the new rules, as only 7 substitutions are allowed).

Andrews was playing for Blackburn Monday night vs Wrexham so i'd say he's just tired more than anything else.

you sure Andrews was in that game? Can't find anything about it online?
according to most reports, the squad had all reported for training in Tipperary on monday

I'm only after realising the game isn't live on RTÉ. Is that because it's not a competitive game?

Anyone any idea what the parking situation will be? Will it be the same as Munster matches where no parking is available any near the ground?

My mate lives right by Thomond, according to him the barriers are going up at 3 and it'll be residential access only to the surrounding estates.

Looks like KK is a player in a safe seat, for the rest of this campaign.

Best thing about these friendlies is the absence of pmt.
