Pike Dominated the 1st half and should have really capitalized more from some comical Regional defending. Regional owned the 2nd half and deserved their equalizer. ET saw Regional dominate ( gregg was sent of for Pike after 75 mins ) and miss a couple of chances that should have been taken. Pike snatched it late on with a Hartnett header. Curiously Finucane was an unused sub? Strange!

Not a very entertaining game despite the scorline! Hospital had a few chances early on that they should have scored. It was obvious Mark Keane was missing for us...

If this is the best the premier league has to offer then there is something seriously wrong...between trying to get the game called off and being as arrogent as anything i have ever seen on a football pitch, not to mention the sideline. We went one up and afterwards had a man sent off after our keeper had been kicked in the face. I dont normally comment on referee's but he had a howler yesterday....our keeper gets kicked in the face and the pike player gets a yellow while our centre half push's someone and gets sent off. We get given out to by the ref for time wasting while after they went two up they complained that every ball we played was soft or not the match ball, and not a word was said to them. Ok they were a better team than we were but a bit of sportmanship wouldn't go astray...regardless of what league your in or where you stand there is no substitute for decency or respect....shameful

shannonman come out of the clouds...
corrib drive had water on it, it also had a mud section that the ref nearly got lost in. Ye had nobody there trying to get the pitch in proper nick before the game. The game was moved up the road to a field with puddles on it. surely if you do get promoted ye might take a bit of pride on your playing surface or were you just trying to get a level playing field against the team top of the premier.
Both players in that incident (1 player challening for a 50 50 ball with the keeper) were booked (yours was a case of mistaken identity) which led to yours getting a second yellow. However it was the righ full for ye that should have walked as he kicked the pike player while on the ground (cowardly), that started the rest of the handbags....
Gerry kelly goes in to do harnett , catches him , not even a free and 5 seconds later o'grady catches somebody and he gets his second yellow and walks also
The last time ye were in the premier you found out how good the league was so i would be trying to laugh at it ...
What goes on on sideleines will go on at all level, however the ref did not say anything to ye when ye were time wasting...or from your sidelines actions..

you should concentrate on your backwards set up as it is a pity to see the top club (current) in shannon stuck in the dark ages...has time stood stil on shannonside..

I never laughed at it...i just said that if ye are the top team in that league then there is something wrong...on tha basis of yesterdays match..i haven't seen ye play previously and i wont again this season. I have other things to concetrate on and ya i do remember playing the last time in the premier and being absolutly hammered by ye to the point where it was embaressing....but that didn't happen yesterday. and i felt that if we had got a break or two especially off a poor referee then we might have caused a shock...its just disheartening to try and play ball at level that is supposedly above you and then have to contend with issue's other than 11 players....i didn't see our full back kick anyone...i did see Gerry tackle hartnet right under the referee's nose and no free kick was given....best of luck to ye in the league and i do hope we get to play ye next year twice.

cheers shannonman , just because we had an off day does not mean the premier league is poor, that is cup football as i am sure you are aware with teams in lower divisons giving it their all for the chance of a shock..
i see where you are coming from as most teams feel the bigger teams get the decisions, but as has been said loads the standard of reffing is poor but maybe it needs to have more ex junior players involved as linesmen etc and that would def assit the standard.
We were missing a good few yesterday so that did not help but i think a monday bank holiday match is not a good idea for junior teams.
I hope ye go up also, but ye would need a good few players to stay up in the premier...

Cheers...and ya we know we would need to strenghten our team dramatically in all areas if were to go up...we have learnt hard lessons after the last time...and i agree that more ex players should go into refereeing but i suppose its hard to justify putting up with the abuse and so on for the money.

yes i will agree pike were poor but they were missing nine players.
connie one of the managers had to start he got injured and casey the other joint manager had to come on for him and the only other sub they had was a b team player.
as for pike trying to get the match off it was some of the pike players and supporters who where sweeping the water off the pitch;)
