A guy I used to work with has been helping me update the look of the stats site so it doesn't look like something a first year knocked together the night before the assignment was due.
The player details page is the first one to be completed, and you can see the fruits of his labours here: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/PlayerDetails

A similar look and feel will be rolled out to the rest of the pages over the next few weeks.
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Aston Villa Reserves 7 Wolves Reserves 1 today

Aaron McCarey played the full match in goal for Wolves, apparently did quite well for Wolves even with the 7 goals, I guess could've ben much worse. Enda Stevens and Derrick Williams both played 90 for Villa in defence, Samir Carruthers also started and was taken off after 71 minutes. Micky Drennan also came on after 81 minutes. Villa did have a pretty strong side out with guys like Bannan, Delfouneso, and a few others with first team experience.

Commentator on the QPR - MK Dons match just said Trap should have a look at Darren Potter, Stephen Gleeson, and Shaun Williams as well

Owen Garvan nabs a penalty to put Palace up 1-0 at HT against Blackpool.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made a 400,000 offer fro Damien Delaney. Becoming a very Irish defence there.

Murray had two good chances, the second one hitting the post - it was actually a great save by Cudicini. Taken off after 70 minutes with cramp and replaced by Yeates. He was probably Watford's best player on the ball but he is quite slow.

Yep, was very impressed by him. A right footed player on the left side of midfield, certainly did very well defensively whether it was covering for Doyley when he went up or applying pressure in Tottenham's half. Took Watford's set pieces as well. The first chance was a decent strike that Cudicini struggled with, thought he really should've taken the second but it wasn't a bad effort. In spite of that though, I didn't see too much attacking impetus from him, didn't really take on defenders (Walker was marking him) nor do I remember him putting in any crosses from open play. Looked like he was shattered though after about 67 minutes when Yeates replaced him. Agree with you as well doesn't have much pace about him for someone playing on the wing. This was only his third Watford appearance and against a side third in the EPL, so one to watch for I suppose.

Adam Rooney grabs Birminghams second from close range against Sheffield United. His 5th of the season for Birmingham i believe.

There could be a fourth round shock on the cards as Clinton Morrison puts Sheffield Wednesday ahead with an impressive lobbed finish for his third goal of the season. Blackpool pay the price for a host of missed first-half chances.

John Sheridan's Chesterfield through to Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final...no Irish players though. Pretty dull semifinal 2nd leg as well.

Monthly stats for January available now on Irish Abroad: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/MonthlyStats?month=1
Strangely, no defender was substituted more than once. Very strange
John O'Shea and James McClean, along with Anthony Stokes, top the wins table with four apiece (unsurprisingly). The Sunderland pair were also joint top of the starters table, appearing in the starting XI six times with O'Shea completing 90 minutes in each one. McClean also scored twice, with Sunderland going on to win both games
Stokes was also the clear top scorer in January, with six goals, twice as many as any other player, surprisingly none of these were scored at Celtic Park and Celtic went on to win each game.
James McCarthy had a terrible month, losing four games

Probably an oversight, but Stephen Ward doesn't appear on any 25 man Wolves squad lists I've seen reported.

    Tuesday, February 7th:

Damian Scannell and Daryl McMahon with two of Eastleigh's goals in their 3-2 victory over Havant and Waterlooville...Grenadian Bradley Bubb with the third.

Sam Foley with a goal for Newport County in their 4-0 FA Trophy victory over Carshalton Athletic.

Villa reserves beat Fulham reserves 3-0...Williams, Stevens, Carruthers, and Burke all started with the latter two getting goals in the match (and Stevens assisting on Carruthers'). Drennan replaced Burke in the 77th minute. Sean Kavanagh of Fulham is also Irish and played 90 minutes.
