    GUFC v UCDD

Well we have improved over the past while but we dont do so well against these guys at home (that could be said for any team in the league at the moment). I predict we will win but it will be close. I hate playing UCDD but I hope this is the game that we change our luck against them. A win brings us clear of the drop zone and will be a huge psychological boost for the team to help us drive on to safety.

We need to approach the game positively If we play with the same intensity we showed against Derry in the Semi Final we will win, no question.
Jeff needs to keep the lads in the same frame of mind. Its important that the fans play their part and create a bit of an atmosphere too.
UCDD will be no pushovers, they are probably our stiffest opposition out of the bottom 4, we can't be complacent.

When I look at this game in the cold light of day i edge closer to a draw more than anything else . Why one might say as I think it will be important for UCD not to lose so i see them parking the bus in front of the goals for the whole game with the hope of nicking one on the break . Again if we score in the first 20 minutes they will have to come out and thus leave holes at the back and we could go on to win the game 3-0 which reminds me that our first win in the league was in August last season so here hope that we get it right on the night .

My score will be 0-0 I hate to say .

I really can't see UCD coming out and playing positively because they've had big problems scoring, I still think if we play Glynn and Jorgensen, we can get something because we'll have the option of trying to play through them or letting Jay O' Shea bomb in crossses... 2-0 I'd say
    innit though??

i hope for a 1-0 win - but watching derry i felt that we werent going to score - ive seen it so often this season - when gufc have a purple patch sure we create chances but we dont seem to finish

o sheas crosses are great but we dont have a big man up front - for all the crosses corners and free kicks how many headers had we on target

jorgensen didnt win one header the last day

But I doubt very much that he was bought for his arial ability. He looks like an intelligent player, makes good runs, creates space for others . Also a high ball played straight up the middle should be won by the centre half. He is the man attacking the ball.
I like the look of jorgensen. I think we have good attacking options now with Jorgensen, Russell, Daisy and Vinnie. Also allows us to move Russell back to midfield if necessary. Jay O Shea looking very good on the wing, Iarlaith looking promising on the other side. Foley struggling a little a this level but wholehearted as anyone. McCullogh playing well at left back, Kenna not doing too bad. Fitzgerald and Lester improved since Kenna came. Connelly has struggled in the last 2 games, Still young but could do with Alan Keane coming back and getting match fit. Rogers playing his best for Utd
In an ideal world could have done with keeping Deegan and getting another solid defender
Still looking a lot more promisimg that 2 months ago

I wasn't in Ballybofey but he was most peoples man of the match, he didn't have a bad game against Derry either. Got caught out for the 1st peno but that will be a good lesson for him. He has to start at RB IMO. Kenna should stick to CB or the sidelines.

Homer: I'm gonna make sure these deliveries are made on time.
Bart: Let me come with you
    Homer: Dont you have school!

Agreed! Kenna can handle CB as it doesn't take the same pace and he should have enough guile to make up for the pace... Conneely should get the rest of the season to fight it out with Alan Keane for the right back spot, he was unlucky for the peno and the second goal was a slip while he was up supporting the attack which could happen to any player. he's one for the future and he seems confident on the ball going forward so I say give the boy a chance....
    innit though??

Well you wont make a fortune tonight unless you chose who scores a winning goal! Jesper 13/2 to score first.

If it's odds you want, try UCD to miss a penalty at 22/1. We're brutal at them!

this has been the first game in a long time that we've been less than 2/1 so it'll be interesting to see how we react as favourites. also really hope we dont give away another penalty. 2 in one game is enough to last til the end of the season

it was a definite foul but i honestly thought it was just outside the box. it could have been inside but tbh i didnt have a great view
