As Westport United B are quietly formulating their permutations for Sunday, I'm sure that Fahy would be gearing up their Thunder Football with their rough and tumble training. The tactics would be "to get stuck in" and hoof the ball up the pitch. Westport are holding their trump card for Sunday.
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
Well spotted Tb. Wonder did he have inside info, and/or who was feeding it to him for what reason??? Think magicians call it "Misdirection"!! Also wonder is the same reporter reading "pixieheads" posts on the ML thread with regard to Danny Lawless taking the snugboro job? Be careful what you say here on foot.ie folks, it may be in the paper!!
And am i alone in wondering how some potential manager gets "linked" to a post in the same paper? How does this happen? Is this a tabloid?!! Certainly has the appearance of one looking at the opinion column!![]()

good man!they're very derogotary remarks coming from a man whose club tried to prise a few of our 'rough and tumble' lads from us not so long ago.at least we stay loyal to all the lads who have played with us all year- and not having to rely on 'imports'.its a poor reflection on yee when yee have to win the title using first teamers.doesnt reflect too well on the managers confidence in the b team squad.at least we'll be easily motivated for the derby come sunday!![]()

You seem to know your stuff re Wesport, I just have a few quick questions for you.
Do you rate Paddy Ryder (ex Westport)?
What is his best position?
Did he feature much in yer FAI cup winning season?
Paddy used to play for the B Team he did not feature in the senior squad, but with the quality in the team ahead of him it would be difficult to win a place in the first team.
He is a decent player, his best position is right wing or striker. The only downside with him that he is a bit on the light side and could be pushed off the ball.
Dont always say what you know, but always know what you say.
Congratulations to the B Team in their title win. They emerged with all arms and legs intact. Gerry picked up a hamstring injury though. Hard luck to Fahy, they deserved to win, if they play consistently like they did yesterday, they will get promoted last season, there was no lack of passion or commitment from them, or the manager for that matter.
Well done dave Lyons!
Dont always say what you know, but always know what you say.
Yeah, was at the game and to be honest, it was a very tough game. Not much football from a purists point of view but lots of character, commitment and a will to win and quite a few beefy tackles. Over the ninety minutes, Fahy deserved to win and we can thank Busty, Eamon Daly and Micheal Gibbons for keeping us in the game. Lee Keegan profited from a mistake and the reaction for Fahy's goal from the bench summed up how much they wanted the game and wanted it badly. Sure Mr. Needham would have been bought lots of drink had he scored, and would be the toast of Teddy's Fashions. I often had plenty of wind-ups with JB but it is good banter all the same, and it is part of the game. Can Fahy mount a serious challenge for promotion next year? The answer to that would be yes.
Great to see James "Atmazidis" Fahy lifting the trophy and great to see the lads winning the biggest trophy that the B team can win. Did Pete Lally really sponsor the B team? And one for the annals, Westport United are the first club to win the top two divisions in Mayo in the one season, another piece for the 2011 Centenary Book.
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
I read that a local media outlet had to retract part of an article from last week's edition, concerning WUFC.
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
Interesting game in the Sports Park on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 as the club's U.13's takes on Salthill Devon in the 3rd round of the SFAI Troy Cup. Salthill are thinking of coming down for 11:00 for a little bit of prep-work, presumably set-pieces, followed by a light lunch before the game. The winners of this tie are at home to Castlebar Celtic on December 15th.

Utd founded 1911. The teams that won the Connacht cups in the 40's as Westport Town, is this a different club to Utd, as I see you claim these titles in your web site as Utd victories. Great league double. Well done to all involved.
