Should be a great tie. These are the games people should be going to see, football played the way it was meant to be. Utd have a nice team at this level. Surpised to see your good U-12's go down to Erris Utd last weekend. Celtic also have a very good U-13 squad once this years U-12's are added to the team. Should be two great ties who ever plays.

Manchester United were once called Newton Heath.

One must congratulate Dave Lyons and co for winning the Premier title for Westport B, and I have know doubt that the players them selves must feel humble on winning the title. and follow there A team in any plaudits that is handed out.
However they must all feel Cheated on not being able to compete in the Super League, which I feel that excising rule should be change, so that the team such as Westport who win the title is aloud to take there place. Its my opinion that a team who finished third such as Ballinrobe have no right to take there place in the super league, and I would hold this regardless who finished in third place, there is no point in replacing one bad rule for another, which is happening at the moment.
Its My opinion this about the M.L. collecting more monies rather than Westport fielding a second team.
I dont see any problem in Westport sending a second team providing they name separate panel, What the league requires is a new club, which I think is obscene.
So they the Mayo League denied the right of Westport B from taking there rightful place,by sending a underated side instead, and then they in TKelly cornor, will write once again, how the standard of the Super League as fallen from grace.
I think its time kelly and Co got off the pot and deal with the real issue of putting the best teams in the Supper League as this is what they are charged with, rather than having a suporting club rather than the real thing.
Think this is one for the A.G.M.

I know that, but they didnt go back to call themselves Newton Heath, What I wanted to know, were Utd on the go when Westport Town were winning these cups. Did Utd change its name to Town and then go back to Utd. Just wondering how long Utd were actually in existance. How long were they called Town. Just wondering since you are claiming Utd are 100 yrs on the go in 2011.

Cmon man, get with it, Westport United were called West Port Town in the early days, along the way they decided a name change, same club, same players, thats it.

Dont be now trying to belittle our hundred years in existence, more importantly dont begrudge us.

You are behaving as a child would in a playground in teasing each other and looking for a reaction.

Why dont you start your own thread for CC? Then you can talk to yourself.

There is more than a hint of tactical begrudgery in your statements on the subject of our club history which needs to be highlighted, at least admit it.

On the subject of bait. A child needs a slapped by an adult every so often, and in your case, some more than others.

Ah, come on & lighten up, why would someone begrudge the length of time a club was in existance. I was only trying to rise TB. Didnt understand the slapping thing, what ever your into.

You are slow on the uptake man, go back to the child in the playground reference I made earlier.

U-13's were lost 4-1 to a very good Salthill team and the U-18's were defeated 3-1 by Kilmurray in the Mayo League rd 1.

This more than answers your point.

We're missing a couple of players but I think that we have more than enough to turn over Swinford, after them coming off the back of a poor season.
