Remember not so long ago when a few referee's were threatening to quit because of the abuse they were getting from players...every club was told that there would be severe punishments for anyone that verbally abuses referee's wasn't there?Maybe there just making an example..
Didn't TK and another Newtown B Team player get something similar last season?
Also i hear a few objects were thrown at the ref after this game...
Sure it was a grand ole team to play for....Sure it was a grand ole team to know..
Hail Hail!!
Can it be appealed... use the naivety of youth as an excuse??
Will certainly be appealed but i dont think Jimmy is quite in the naivety of youth category
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

8 months... Pros don't get that for assaulting referees...Eric the king of Old Trafford got something similar for that kung fu effort on the Palace fan
hmmmmm thinks there is a bit of a different between kicking a palace fan in the arse and kicking someone in the backarse of no-where!!!8 months for 8 minutes its a strange olde clare la liga or il-lega![]()
The ban seems a bit harsh to me. We have a player who got 12 months for shaking a referee who has make no secret of his dislike for us. He sent off 8 players for us this season and giving that we only had 2 or 3 red cards other than that the figures don't lie. He is blatantly biased against us. Knowing the clare leagues incompotence we will probably get him as frequently again next season.
So its Rinneana,s turn to play in the Moher Celtic Friday League this time.
Next year the league will be sponsored by and called the TGIF League!!

Talking about favouritism towards Moher, how about this for the opposite.
On Sat 26th May Newtown have their 30th anniversity dinner dance. Its a black tie affair and obviously a big night for the club. The clare league have decided that the cup semi finals should take place this w/end. Despite the fact that neither moher or Newtown have a match this Sunday they will not re schedule. They have given the option of a 6 pm KO on Sat evening, which is nice of them but when the dinner is sitting down at 7.45 it doesn't make any sense at all. Newtown are an important part of the clare league and are celebrating their 30 years of playing history within that league. Surely some sensible accomodation can be made in order to allow players, managemnt and supporters enjoy both the dinner dance and the cup semi final![]()
you are only a loser when you stop trying. Playing sport does not build character, it reveals it.
sensible from the clare league... can ye not refuse to play / travel see earlier posts were teams refused to play/ travel certain matches and clare league let them do it...
hope it is sorted out asap .. and good luck in cup semi final & congrats on 3oth years in clare league have a good night on anniversary dinner dance .. ye newtowns lads like a good p*ss up..![]()

Could they not just put the game on earlier on the Saturday?? Why does it have to be a 6 O'clock kick off? Thats hardly doin ye any favours. You'd think the Clare league would have a bit of cop on at this stage. Where is the match on anyway?
if opposition cannot field a team .. that has to be a walkover
no mater if it is unfair to other teams...
clare league had made a crazy decision here .. what about all the other teams in clare league who have given walkovers & have been fined by league can they all appeal these now ... once again the muppets of clare league hierarchy seem to be making up rules to suit themselves .![]()

If they do know about the anniversary, there better off giving up there so called say in the committe, they obviously havent got the minimum amount of intelligence to think that if the match kicks off at 6 bells and the meal is for 7.45,could even go to penos, the newtown lads will be lucky to get last orders at the bar, whats newtowns chances of getting it changed to a different date???
I assume Newtown informed the league of the upcoming dinner dance months in advance. We informed the league a number of months in advance and had no problems getting a free weekend.
