NZ are one of the best One-Day teams, maybe not Test, but they are strong in One-Day

Jayasuriya started off slowly, but he is now showing his true worth, doing great so far.

85 for 3 of 26 overs chasing 304. Run rate required now 9.3 per over. Need a miracle I think. Sloppy fielding in their own innings didn't help.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh at a canter yesterday.

Ireland have made several changes for today's game against South Africa, albeit only one involving personnel. Paul Mooney (medium pace bowler and lower order batsman) replaces Kevin O'Brien, a nominal all-rounder who hasn't starred with the bat at this tournament and has only been entrusted with a handful of overs. He does have Ireland's record ODI score (142) in his credit column, which is probably why he's retained his place this long. As I suggested elsewhere, White will be promoted to #5, with Johnston possibly coming in earlier too.

Make no difference, mind, still odds-on for a trouncing. Sith Efrika learned their lesson after narrowly defeating Ireland in a warm-up game and won't be caught off-guard.

We are up against Pollock and Ntini in unfavourable conditions for batting for anyone you know
    The Model Club

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

At least it is much better over recent overs, but too late to make a big impact now.

152/8 from 35 overs - respectable enough given we were 17/1 off 9 overs. Started having fun towards the end.

Solid bowling start too - 7/1 for SA off 3 overs. Doesn't look like we're going to get embarrassed even at this early stage.

52/1 off 8.2 now. SA getting into their stride; looks all over bar the shouting even at this early stage.

106 for 3 of 22 overs. Ireland have put down a few catches in the last few overs. Mooney got hit for 14 of his first over. Kallis batting well for South Africa

Your man Mooney didn't look like a great selection. It's a pity we couldn't have taken Kallis out, it would have made for a slightly better innings at least.

I think he meant John Mooney and not Paul Mooney who was throwing the ball.

I think the lads gave it their best as they have been all the way, they certainly make up for not been the best technically, by having such a fighting spirit.

I have been pleased with the performances. No humiliation (yet) and have been competitive in every game. If they'd taken the two chances which Kallis gave up, yesterday might even have been closer.

Kiwis are strong ok but they have their off days. I think we're not much worse than Bangladesh so good chance there.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

I thought after the start Ireland would have got trashed but respectable performance against on of the best teams in the world.

I suppose best chance of a win would be against Bangladesh?
