That's bad news - Pietersen only had to face 9 balls from the last 5 overs. I'd have preferred to keep Bell there all day and restrict the run rate. At a strike rate of under 42, that would have worked out as a target to chase somewhere around 175/180.

I'd rather see Ireland try to keep a low scorer on strike and restrict the runs than end up with Pietersen and Flintoff coming out swinging!

D/L method at the moment would predict a score of 240 for England after 50 overs.
That would make for a very tight game - I think both teams would fancy their chances at that - As was mentioned, under 220 gives Ireland a really good shout

Batsmen haven't really shone in the same way that they have been prior to the tournament, but if they can keep England below 250 there's always a chance.

Pretty sure we broke 200 against Zimbabwe. The Pakistan game was on very much a bowler's wicket by the looks of it too.

That's more than enough for England. Collingwood hauled them out of the soup. I don't think Johnston was fit enough to play, and certainly not to bowl ten overs.
