We're not playing the Brits yet, as England still have to qualify, and Kenya have a chance to beat them.

    Woolmer death treated as murder

Police in Jamaica have launched a murder investigation into the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer.

Following the results of a post mortem examination, police said Mr Woolmer had died of asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation.

The chief police commissioner appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Woolmer, 58, was found in his hotel room on Sunday, the day after his team lost to Ireland in the World Cup.

    That's sensational news.
The Pakistan media manager nonchalantly threw a small firework into the mix by saying that Woolmer was worried about proofs of his book that went missing. Something about that they were the only proofs of the book.
Sky sports are coming out with 5 theories every 2 minutes, they'll have it solved by morning.

    Thumbs down

India v Sri Lanka is the main game on sky sports. Damn you NTL for not having interactive tv, as the Ireland game is available for sky subscribers.
Windies will not be looking forward to playing us they are a shadow of their former selves and will be lucky to make it out of the super 8 group.

Funny, i thought this morning they advertised Ireland v the Windies as the game being covered live on SS1!?? W**kers!!

As for the super 8's i fully expect the windies not to make the semi finals, can see the last four being Australia, SA (bankers) and the remaining two places being Sri lanka/India (depending on who gets through today) & New Zealand.

Should be a great round of fixtures now as i'd expect the top sides to step up a gear!

You would think that it wouldn't be stretching technology too far to make the Ireland game available on NTL.

Sheridan, a bit of geography advice.

Its the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

So Nordies included. we never were, are or will be "Brits".

    Thank God.

I'd say the majority of the Northerners have British passports and consider themselves British

Either way no more political discussion on the thread please lads...

Would they not be more properly described as United Kingdom passports?

Anyhow, here's hoping that Ireland can put up a good performance without Johnston.

tomorrow. We need both of them at full fitness for the Super 8s. It'll give a few of the fringe players a chance. It would be nice to win and maybe the Windies might be to relaxed. The group winners take 2 point into the Super 8's
I would suspect Ireland don't have the strength in depth to have the luxury of resting players. Cricket not exactly the most taxing physically so can't see how the guys could be tired...

You're obviously new to the game pete if you think its not taxing for bowlers

Anyway, its not that they are tired, its that they have slight injuries and another couple of days rest could help them get back to full fitness for the other games.

No one mentioned injuries. Its only 10 overs per game anyway & neither player bowled full complement last weekend.

Latest: Johnston is out injured & Rankin passed fit.

This is effectively the Super 8 at this stage so resting player for this game seems no different than first 'official' Super 8 game?
