Eh, Tevez played one half decent game all season and that was Sunday, so far he has been one of the worst if you are going on his performances.

I meant playing in the premier****.

Anybody who "supports" an english club should support their national side too btw.

Liverpool won the Champions League a few years ago for fooks sake and Gerrard was the one who brought them back into it. Likewise he got them back in the fa cup final against West Ham last year with a brilliant display. Anyone who says they have never seen him play as well as Mikel did last night has obviously not seen him play too many games.Mikel has done nothing - apart from changing his name because it sounds better on tv - since going to England. Im not saying Gerrard is the best in the world or anything, he clearly didnt do it at the world cup, but a nothing player? What a load of rubbish, a real Eamonn Dunphy classic(the man who was up for Cameroon against Ireland, saying Ireland had absolutley no chance of making it through the groups). The panel on RTE are so ****ing cynical, they are not happy when the underdog wins because they always say the favourite just wasnt "honest" enough. If i was to sum up that game last night i would say, fair play to Liverpool, they are an average side but they still managed to knock out the champions over two legs.

Those Stats are hilarious. Hahnemann is massive weak link for Reading.

Whilst not proving anything, it gives some semblance of rationale to Gerrard having a decent, not great season and I am quite happy with him personally. Far from a nothing player in fact.

I only wait for the Scholes is a good tackler comment next to join spurious claims that Tevez has been playing well for more than one game, Carrick is a better midfielder, Carragher is not very good and Terry is a good centre-half from certain people amongst this thread.

    More patronising shyte.

Knock out the Italian champions, English champions, Spanish champions, top your CL groups, and come from 0-3 down to beat an Italian side in a European Cup final.

In most countries, that would be called a "wonderful" side with world-class footballers. Here it's only average, with "nothing" players.

Im basing it on their performances in the premiership where they are currently 3rd 19 points of top.

I think we'll have to call this thread a good day's work if annoying the touchiest fans on Earth is the point.

Shame on the Hoops on this thread prattling on about "us" and "we" in relation to a foreign team.

He's doing OK but he is the slowest player in europe. Same way John Terry is a bit slow for top top class football (witness world cup and latter stages of europe). Not much between Terry and Carragher mind

Funny that Dunphy mentioned acid / LSD on last nights programme when talking about the decline of the Galacticos.

Did anyone else pick up on this .

Are the expert knowledge of the RTE panel using this site for inspiration.

I was amused by Alan "brilliant" "magnificent" Parry on SKy last night as he declared that Arsenal "must surely go on and win this" after they scored. Talk about tempting fate.

So another season without a trophy for Arsenal and yet they will continue to play weakened sides in the FA Cup and League Cup. I am gutted for Arsene Whinger.

I see RTE must have had a few complaints about the panel's attacks on Ronaldo as Giles said he wasn't going to mention him again.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Agreed. I think this is mainly because Carrgher is aware of his limitations, knows what he can and cannot do, and plays accordingly.
