Yea I thaught Wembley would be a lot better, they were deserving winners I just think it's a pity that Newcastle West cannot play the likes of Wembley week in week out, NCW are running away with their own league with no dropped points 39 goals for and 4 against in 8 games, that will tell you how weak the youths league is in the Desmond League, Wembley should be serious contenders for the Munster Youths and FAI but will nedd to improve..

Come on the blue and white hoops
pike 3 wemblys 0 it could easily have been 5 r 6 only for lewis in goals, pike were to strong for them plus lewis was the at fault for the 3rd when mc,carry scored from a corner

I thought that if your Junior team was invloved in any of the 2 major comps then you were entitled to have any of the clubs other fixtures called off??
Would the minors have made a big difference?

They probaly would have done, cause we would have been up for it more, not taking away from pike they were very strong and very well organised..

    Hi Abbey

That is only true for games in the same grade so the youthe game would not normally be called off as it is in the youths grade not the junior grade.

    Angry wrfc for info

just wonderin ,you said that your minors would have given you a better chance against pike,is it that pike are not that good at playin and try to intimadate other teams phyiascally or just if you had some younger more skillful players you might hae ben able to xploit a weakness in pikes game,if there that big i would have thought a side with a couple of skillful wingers and 2 fast small mobile forwards would cause them trouble, they would have to bebang on with regards to tacklin in and around the box,i know that grattan sides pa connors has a wand of a left foot from frees and if figo is fit for grattan ehs goin to draw a lot of fouls, grattans forards are small and quick and it wont take much for them to go 2 ground, munster senior league refs as well for the game, they wont put up with any physcial side, tis not the way they ref the senior league so pike will have there hands full
