I think if you're a regular on this forum you'll be able to follow all discussions easily enough. I think the current format works really well and it's differentiates foot.ie from forums for people with goldfish like attention spans.

Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

It's better organised and less frenetic under the current format. I find this way easier to follow, personally (as opposed to the high-turnover approach favoured elsewhere). If there is something you're looking for that you know has been discussed on here at some point in the past, you can also be pretty sure of which thread is best to start looking in.

Using the 'quote' function can help tie related posts together and helps ensure fluidity and consistency in threads where there might be multiple discussions going on simultaneously. I think most are conscientious of that. I don't think I've ever had any difficulty deciphering what someone has posted in response to here. Well, except for when Paul has posted, obviously.

It can work sometime, especially if you are following something closely but other
time can look into a thread and find a discussion where I am not sure of the beginning or end.

I guess that can happen with any system though, threads can often drift off topic
And you may have to look back some way to find out what is being discussed.

Something like "there's still some pace in the 36 year old's legs".

Ya if he was 36 he would be grand. He let one ball go in the penalty box that he could have cleared at once and ended up giving a free, but i remember thinking he was kinda right to try and control it rather than hoof it clear, but experience tells you give away the throw just to be on the safe side, unless you are barcelona.

Can anyone find the link betweeen bohs fans and shamrock rovers fans and your average moderate mulsim who denounce these islamist fanatics?

Scored for Hull today at Swansea but they lost 3-1 in the end after Meyler was sent off.

Frequently ends up in Hull fans top 3 for MOTM on not606 whenever he does play.

He seems to be a bit of a cult hero for them.

Good instinctive striker's finish at the weekend.

Any chance mcshane could develop like Richard Dunne did to become a solid defender in the latter half of his career. Just always get the feeling with mcshane that he has a big error in him in every game

Who knows? I think Dunne was always recognised as having great potential, Paul's statistics do show improvement and I think he
has done better than a lot on here expected, he is one of our better players in the stats, he is rated higher than Brady or Meyler, I think he
can continue to improve, experience usually helps iron out mistakes provided you learn from them.

He certainly had a big error against France, and I have not seen him do that again (yet!!) so he must have learned from it!

I think he already has become a better defender. He's a victim of that horrible Irish affliction: he's not a Champions League superstar, he's a ginger, so he's cr@p.

I can't remember another incident of him letting an offside player handle the ball twice either
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Was Dunne not more a case of sorting his lifestyle out off the field though ?

It's exactly that prejudice that put paid to my burgeoning football career. If people had of given me a chance, they'd know my crapness had nothing to do with being ginger.

Now that I know you're ginger, SvD, no more thanks from me.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
