How do the AUL decided the punishment for illegal players. Just looking at the tables now we've all different symbols next to different teams for illegal players. How do they decide that Bweeng get deducted 1 point "for playing an illegal player" and why Ballinhassig get deducted 3 "for playing an illegal player"??

Bweeng obviously drew the game and ballinhassig won their game I'd say. Richmond were thrown outta the St Michaels Cup for a similar thing to Kilumney. They forgot to sign their keeper who has played with them for a few years. It's the new Assistant Registrar is going through match cards and reg forms with a fine tooth comb

Hey lads just a note from the hall we re delighted to have reached the AOH final professional job done last night its great for the club to be back in the final last won by the hall in 86 i think its been a tough enough season up in premier a, a lot of things have gone against us losing some quality players like deano great to hear he's terrifying defences up prem best of luck to him for the remainder of the season, injuries etc true all clubs face the face these battles but would like to thank all involved for pulling together when times were tough and we have some reward with a trip to the cross we ll be under no illusions about the task facing us quality side kilummney we know that from 3 yrs ago when they pipped us to the div 1 title great hard fair battles with them that yr and im sure the final will be the same they ve obviously added more quality so theyll be big favourites but its cup football so we r in with a chance. To be honest its games like that we all want to play in. We'll take confidence from big performances in some of our cup games like away to coachfoard home to knockavilla and try learn from our poor league form of late But first and for most we ll be looking to pick up the nessecary league points in the nxt few wks to ensure our survival in prem A which has been one tough league to compete in and best of luck to all involved for top spot in the run in. As for i for although ur opinion interesting as it may be at times we aint too concerned with it we ve more important things to focus on

[QUOTE=redandwhite;1680046]If he played last three years wit ye why wasn't he signed on original form in aug?[/QUOTE

He was away when main form was filled out. Also he was injured up until Christmas so filled out individual one.

Anything sent in by clubs should always be done by registered post. "Clerical errors" by that organisation inevitable

Was it not all individual forms this year? Not a nice thing to happen when points are deducted for a genuine error.
I agree with leftside too, the punishment for illegal players is confusing, it should be the one punishment no matter what, there was a situation last season in the same division where one team was given a 3 nil win for a game they lost to a team with an illegal player and the other instance a team were deducted 3 points for having an illegal player but the other team were not awarded a 3 nil win, the reason which was given was that one club put in the complaint, the other didn't, should that even matter???

Then when he came on against Castleview the league did a “random" check on the match card and informed us that he wasn't signed. He didn't sign the main form as he was on holidays but signed an individual one which was sent to the league. A form they claim not to have received. Just find the whole thing a bit strange. As soon as he was called in and the league knew he wasn't signed shouldn't they have told us? Just to state that he has played with us the for the last 3 seasons and got the winner in the AOH final last year. So we weren't exactly hiding this “illegal" player of ours. Anyways it is done now. What small chance we had of a title push are now well over and we look forward to the AOH final now.
Can't believe that Donnie very harsh on ye but I don't think it rules ye out of the league ye are more than capable of doing it!!

We were deducted that point for player who signed an individual form that was posted then after his sixth game for us we were informed that he wasnt signed and they hadnt recieved it they tried to deduct us all the points we said we would be contacting a solicitor then we were told just to pay 250 and have a point deducted we said we wanted to appeal that and then were informed that just take the punishment because under no circumstances would we win the appeal

your right tekkers and this is bad for the aul you have a club like kilumney in the hunt for the title playing the right way and some of the best players in cork and their youths on a high as well .we need our big clubs like them i hope it not going to be an anybody but kilumney thing .that day v clonmel they were outstanding i watched then v pearse last week and thought they were one of the teams to beat.lots of decent football people out there it takes the gloss off it who ever wins it after this.and of course the aul dont want to look mugs to the fai if it did happen that day on a lighter note it didnt help that the lad in question was man of the match.

That's very harsh lads and It's not like killumney went out played 2r3 illegal players under different name and got caught ! It was a simple mistake like I think the aul should have a look at thus again. In all fairness the funny part of this is it probably said Dave kenny on the match card so it's not like killumney were trying to hide him or anything common sense the aul should have

Donnie, no Master form this year. All individual forms.

To be fair to the registrar, he sends out a list of signed players as soon as you add one. Your sec should have been looking for it or check the list. Is it his son is the illegal player?
No blame on AUL for this one.

Same for ye at Bweeng. Check your list and he isnt on it. Ye were lucky, they could have clung ye for the six games.

If we want proof for ourselves, we just have to register the letters. Remember Castleview got caught because the letter got stuck in the machine in An Post, and therefore had no postmark , just a tick.

The points deductions is a strange one - I think it should be 3 points to the legal team in the game so be that minus 1 or whatever. If the losing team play illegal, take 3 points from them. Hang a suspended sentence over them for 3 - 5 years. Do it again in that time and its 6 points etc. We will get clarification at the AGM.

I don't follow you. A different name in the AOH? His name is dave Kenny, his name was down for the final & the castleview game. Thats the thing. He was illegal because he wasn't signed apparently not that we played someone else.

Horse you are always one to answer honestly so tell me this. This player was called in to be investigated by the AUL after the clonmel game. Are you telling me that they didn't know he wasn't signed & as soon as he played against castleview there wad a random check on the match card & we got “caught". The fact is this. The AUL were annoyed they couldn't punish us over the fai game. The fai didn't want to bring it further & neither did clonmel. So they punished us the best way they could. They took 3 points off us for playing an illegal player. I just find the whole thing baffling to be honest. But its done now. I have said my piece on it. Dont agree with it but what can we do.

Ya Donnie they should have told ye when ye went in after the Clonmel game. I think its very harsh. I think club secretary's are gonna have to keep a very close eye on what forms are "received" by AUL from next season on. Or as has already been stated use registered post
