What did Ward do wrong? I'm just really confused by this... he played his socks off and did very little wrong..
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Thought Ward was awful myself. Every close offside decision, he seemed to be two yards behind the line, playing the man on. Could be being over-harsh, but for Croatia's third, he gave Mandzukic way too much space to get the header in, costing us a goal. There were other examples too I think, but my mind's kind of shirking back in horror (and I didn't see the Italy game).

That said, given how well we performed overall, that could well be enough for third best player of the tournament. But I do think he's a weak link (same as in the away game in Russia).

he seems to tuck in a lot, as though he wants to be more of centerback, and he doesnt really go out to the wing to try and close the opposition wingers down.

Kilbane used to tuck in as well. It's specific instructions from Trap.

Is Steve Harrison still coaching there? He's KK's father in law.

Coventry would be a good move for Kilbane. I think he is still able for at least another season, especially at a lower-level. This move will also open the door for a coaching position, which I am sure interests him given his perusal of UEFA coaching badges.

I would like to see us give Kilbane one final cap to mark his massive contribution to Irish football. Do we need to set up a petition?

It would be great to give Kevin a testimonial and I believe that Kevin would use the opportunity to put monies earned to good causes.

He's back! Killer scored a 90th minute penalty tonight to give Coventry a 1-0 win the League Cup at Dagenham & Redbridge.

He scored a peno in the shootout of the 2011 Playoff semi-final for Huddersfield. I'm not sure if that was his first penalty since Suwon.

He took one very soon afterwards in a League Cup game in England as far as I can recall, walloping it straight in.

Let's start a letter-writing campaign to get Trap to call him back up. Is he any worse now than he was a year ago when he was playing in every match? He's better than that chump Stephen Ward, I'll tell you that much.

Top man on and off the pitch, very underrated by the fans but highly rated by those who played alongside him.

    All the best Killer.
