Andrews' yellow card has been overturned and has been given to McGeady (as the referee should have done originally)

Apparently when he was bleeding profusely from the nose and couldn't get back on (first leg I think, can't remember) it was broken. Had surgery Thursday to repair it.

Scored again today for Ipswich, from a Daryl Murphy cross. They lost 2-1 but his goal put them in front, validating my hypothesis that he scores important goals (as he did Ireland's first in Tallinn).

Andrews just pulled one back for Ipswich, cross comes in from the left, ball gets headed out to the edge of the box where Andrews smashes a low drive on the half-volley past Luke Steele. 2-1 to Barnsley, game on now.

...and he's done it again! 2-2 to Ipswich as a another cross comes in from the left, Andrews from about 8 yards out gets a flicked header on it and it flies past the despairing Luke Steele.

yeah, they dont come much more important than, er, Barnsley Ipswich...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

You know what I mean, Stuart. His goals tend to turn losses into draws, draws into wins.

Looks like the scorer of important goals is out for a month after tearing his hamstring. Interestingly, it looks like a few Premier League teams are interested in him in January, including Wigan. An Andrews-McCarthy partnership for the second half of the season?

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell is keen to sign the 31-year-old on a permanent basis with his club having held talks with Andrews’s agent.

However, there is some confusion as to whether the Premier League side are after a fee of €300,000 for the Dubliner or whether he’ll be available on a free transfer, with the Ewood Park club looking to rid themselves of a further 18 months of Andrews’s wages.

Jewell says Blackburn, who he has previously said aren’t the easiest club to deal with, need to clarify the position with Aston Villa, Everton, Swansea, Wigan and Bolton amongst a host of Premier League sides understood to be monitoring the situation.

No harm having an enforced winter break. Would be great to see him back in the EPL.

Andrews set to leave Blackburn as a free agent - http://www.tribalfootball.com/articl...-agent-2657161

Ipswich, Wigan and Cardiff are in for his signature. Honestly, I think I would rather see him at Cardiff than having to endure loss after loss at Wigan.

Of those three I think I would hope that he goes to Cardiff as well. I am wary of Martinez and the shenanigans with McCarthy so that would have an influence on me as well.

I'd be very surprised if Martinez talked Andrews into declaring for Scotland. Of the three sides, Wigan play the best football and Andrews could really help them beat the drop. On the other hand, promotion with Cardiff could send him into the Euros on a high. As good as he's been at Ipswich, he'd be best off steering clear I think.

Good move. They've a solid 5 point cushion over the bottom 5 sides in the table and I can't see anyone clawing that back (in fact, I'd be surprised if the three teams in there now weren't relegated). So he's joining a secure Premiership club with some healthy competition in the middle of the park. And it's not Wigan.
