It's not Derry's national anthem anyway so they had no real reason to respect it I spose.
Wonder what is Zayeds opinion on players laughing and joking during a national anthem?

What happened with Zayed? I missed the start of the match.
Have to give the lads credit. We have shown the country why we would be an asset to the premier division .
They put in a decent effort and we probably deserved more than what we got , we can only imagine how it would have been if Graham's shot have gone in .
We were good going forward at times, but it was our final ball that was missing . We have a very good young team and they can only get better and hopefully will learn from games like last night.
If anything, last night shows that we are more than able to hold our own in the premier division should we get promoted . 3 competitive games we have had with premier opposition and we have given a good account of ourselves in all of those games.
Back to basics from here on in, We have 5 cup finals in the form of our league games . I would rather win all of them than win the game last night in the greater scheme of things.
Reason for that, I want more nights like last night at the cross and that is what we will get in the premier division.
Also congrats to Derry on winning what was a great encounter.
Hat's off to Derry for winning! Success breathes success. Off the back of their First Division title and now League Cup triumph, will they win more silverware this year?

That Turner lad on the wing for Cork looks like a decent lad.
Also did Daryl Horgan play any part in the game, didnt remember seeing him?
What ever the pundits used to say about the Premier Division needing a strong Shams it most definetly needs a strong Cork City, in years to come they will be the only club who will be able to contend with Shams budget, when ya boil it down its money that wins leagues.
No, he was cup tied.
On the game itself, I thought Cork City were better in the first half, played all the football. All Derry could do was try play balls over the top for Zayed (who is crap btw) to get on the end of. In fairness though, Derry were much better in the second half and probably deserved the win. Stonewall peno too IMO.
This isn't having a go at you, as you qualified your choice of word, but it reminded me of the commentator yesterday. Twice in the first half- once when Cork hit the post, and once when Derry it the bar- the commentator said, "It deserved to go in..." Er...no, it didn't, or it would have gone in.
Have to agree with you here. Not just about this match, but you here people say things all the time along the lines of 'we should have won that game'.. well, you couldn't score more than the opposition over 90 minutes, you shouldn't have won that game, regardless of possession or any other stats.
Congratulations to Derry on another trophy and well done to Cork who will probably be in the top half of the premier next year.
Still, the history books will show he scored the winner in the match
