I was at the game yesterday (as an Askeaton Supporter). You are well off the mark saying they only had two shots on goals. There was at least 2 other one on one situations and they had plenty off attacking opportunities. Surprised at your comments re: the referring too. NCW players seemed more intent on moaning at the ref than playing ball. Two of the so called "penalties" were blatant dives and the lack of protest from the "fouled" player spoke volumes. The 3rd one (with the keeper) was a marginal call, which could have gone either way and don't forget that your second goal came from a crazy decision to give a free in the corner.
Congrats on the win and it was well deserved but at least get your facts right before you go mouthing off at refs and other teams.
The pen claim regarding the goalkeeper was a penalty.power touched the ball past te keeper and took him down so shud have been a penalty..again power fouled twice in the box by the right back and shud have been a penalty also..I actually remember ray massey having a one on one with the goalie but our centre back got back and got the ball away so I apologies on that..Good entertaining game tho

Shannonside 2-1 Kileaney any report from this game? Shannonside still looking solid at the top of the League
Rathkeale V Abbeyfeale in the munster Junior Cup should be a cracker this weekend
Heard Shannonside were lucky enough to win yesterday but a win is a win. Abbey and Newcastle will push them all the way. Looks like it will be a 3 way fight to the finish.
Very hard to call promotion in the other 4 divisions at the moment. Only Ballingarry in Div 1 look certs. Good to see the leagues being so competitive

Ya I agree with u there..when the football starts again I can see shannonside falling away a bit..they will find it hard when they play Newcastle west and abbeyfeale and rathkeale again...going by the Desmond league website they haven't played Newcastle west yet..think it's going to be a very tight division this year
<br />
have to say ray massey played very well againts four players in ncw back line and got alot more chances than that 1 on 1 on. the ground massey had yer centre halfs and wing backs in his pocket.....ncw played well but yes all you could hear was ref ref ref ref ref ref ref..........askeaton should have got a point from the game fair play to askeaton never gave up
Although Shannonside have the points in the bag, cannot see them lasting the pace. GAA season is upon us, & no doubt this will negatively affect Shannonside as it does every year. People forget we're still only at the half way mark. My money is on NCW, with Abbey pushing them all the way. With the quality players they've got back NCW are the team to beat. Shannonside have to play NCW twice yet remember, hard to see them getting any points there when you compare players on both sides. Just my opinion.
Lads in my opinion most of ye are not looking at this year specifically and are only going by what happened in years past.The way Im looking at the leaders at the moment is that they have a good few players who have to be said have a lot of it played and will not get a better chance to win something before they hang up their boots.They are not going to throw away all their effort and hard work so far this year very easy even if they play Gaelic Football aswell.
Its theirs to lose at the moment and all the other teams have a lot of work to do to catch them.It will be an interesting finish to the season with the games coming thick and fast. Shannonside are not used to being in this position whereas Abbey and NCW have been in more recent years. Interesting finish in store.
Interesting finish it will be have shannonside not played Abbeyfeale or NCW yet or have they beaten abbey. If they have it will be tough for the chasing pack. It's true for el nino once the intensity picks up and there are two games a week the resolve of shannonside will be tested. Best of luck to three teams in contention it's a while since there has been such competition in the race for the title.
