Kanturk 1 Leeds 2
Another loss for us today!1 win in a 11!!Dont think were playing as bad as results suggest!
On the game itself, went down 1nil after 2 minutes, equalised before half time, they got the winner 15 to go from the most blaent offside ive ever seen!!
I hate talking about refs, cause i no how hard the job is!In one case our defenders back was to goal,he went to clear it,spun off his foot and went back to our keeper, keeper picked it up,he gave a in direct free kick! Its just makes you think about the standard,i no how hard it is for refs!
If your reading this leeds park or were there today, what did you make of it?Good win scaffa, theres no stoping ye at the moment!
Infairess holden,i must say your keepin your douthers quite at the moment!Thats your second 4 this season, well done lad!
Lucky boys to get outta this game with 3 points. It was a different win to last week. We didnt showcase our game like we did against Grattan, but, boy did we dig deep. We went one up in the first minute - Keith Mc in midfield with a shot from outside the box. We had a lot of the game and had a few more chances. They came into it after half an hour, and were probably on the front foot from there. They equalised with quarter of an hour to go, but we went back in front following a defensive error on 80. Deighted with the win. Glenthorn played well. I had heard Brendan Long was good - he was very good. Other participants in the game were not so good.............
Well done to Mr Holden - and slipped it in subtley....I like that!
Scaff, ye are flying and you were subtle too!
Donaldinhio, what's going on down there? Ye have the same squad?
I really dont no horse!our sweeper who was on aul panal end of season tourment in 09 is back in 2 or 3 weeks after been out with hes knee for last 10 months,so hel be like a new signing! We lost 2 or 3 in the summer but bought in 2 or 3 more!We were very unlucky in a few games, geting that second goal and killing off the game,we should have done in 4 games this year, stuff like that!
I've played against him a good few times and he is a top class player. He'll be a big difference for ye.
Great win today for Macroom but the result that was most impressive was Wiltons away win in Knockavilla. Wilton look to be very strong this year and with Grattan and Leeside struggling at the moment I think they will be Kinsales biggest challengers.
Another impressive win for Kinsale also.
Lads,
The semi's for the Mossie Linane are on this weekend.
Is the final planned for before Christmas?
Anyone know what date?
Aul are looking to play the mossie plus the three divisional cups before christmas over a week in the cross. Leeside struggling??
cheers donaldihno didnt know i ad doubters leave them doubt away i now what im capable of...must say i taught ye would be up their again this season in prem a all ye need is a win or two on the bounce and ye be flying again i reckon..

Macroom (B) 2 Killowen 0.
Our poor form away from home continues, played well in patches during the first half but didn't really test the Macroom keeper apart form one quickly taken free kick that he did well to parry. Macroom had the more clear cut chances in the half but their shooting left them down. When it seemed we were heading for the interval at 0-0, a mix up in communication at the back by us allowed Macroom through on goal and their striker made no mistake. We had it all to do in the second half as a wayward back pass allowed Macroom in for number two after an hour. Macroom then hit the post a minute later as we struggled to reproduce our first half display. We battled on gamely but couldn't break Macroom down despite putting them under pressure from set pieces. Our day was summed up in the 89th minute, we had a free kick in front of the Macroom goal, a powerful strike was heading goalwards until an outstreched leg deflected the ball around the post and unfortunately the ball ended up in the river. Guess which club the new match ball belonged to? That's the joys of football for you.

To be very honest, Donaldihno you have to admit ye were lucky to finish with eleven. Very lucky in fact. Your number six should of been sent off in the first 30 mins before your manager was forced to take him off cause it was only a matter of time before the ref was finally going to send him off. He was booked early on for stopping us from counter attacking and then came in late twice on our players on top of a hand ball which deserved a second yellow. Then in the second half i think it was yere number 5 came in very late when one of our players was on the floor catching him just below the knee while he was on the floor, but he only got a yellow card. Its challenges like that, that result it players getting badly injured.
In general it was a tough game with both sides going in strong for all the 50-50's and it was good to see as soon as the final whistle was blown that there was no animosity between the sides with everybody shaking hands.
The indirect free kick was a strange one alright, he certainly didn't mean to knock it back to the keeper.
Good weekend in Kinsale with our 3-0 win over Ballyvolane in the Mossie Semi.
I reckon BallyV must have been short a few as they didn't show up at all last saturday. They'll come good another day though.
The result flattered the northsiders, and only for their keeper they could've got a right hammering (4 excellent saves, in my opinion)
They had some good individuals - the right full impressed and the No. 9 threw a few shapes.
Damian O'Mahony also had a good game reffing - he got all the big decisions right and controlled the game well without throwing around the yellow cards like confetti.
Looking forward to Turners Cross now for the Mossie Linnane Final - I think it's great to run it off before Xmas as it's importance at this stage of the season is much higher than when it's run off in May/June.
Well done to the AUL for rescheduling the final for this time.
Any news on the team of the month for Aug/Sep/Oct???
It would be nice to get some recognition for our tidy start to the season.
(11 wins out of 11 games, with 8 clean sheets).
Early days though, and we realise more than anyone that the season is still only a pup.
Another tough game this weekend v unbeaten Crescent Ath in the FAI Jun.
Hopefully we can scrape past in this tricky away fixture.

Thats my point keepers, bad descions all day!If the ref thinks thats a back pass, were are we goin!I no some are hard to call but come on like!
Its makes you wonder do they no the rules, why give it!Be honest the player who scored yer goal couldnt believe he was onside!Infairness thats the way it should be,90mins of 100 percent commited players and shake hands after,i even shook hands with ref after, cause i no how hard it is for them!
They need help but we no thats impossible for the time being, wouldnt it be nice to have assisent refs for things the ref cant see!
Macroom B 2 Killowen 0
Macroom B took the spoils against Killowen at the Town Park on Saturday, with a hard fought 2-0 win.
In fact, this was a vital game for both sides. A win for either side meant they were mixing it at the top. A loss would mean being positioned in the lower half of the table, with an unwelcome potential battle to avoid relegation. Both sides started like they understood this, playing some neat passing football. Macroom nearly took the lead on 12, when an excellent through ball by Andrew Hegarty found Patrick Burns, whose effort was just wide. Next it was the away sides turn, when on 20 an excellent ball in from Greg Constant was headed over by Jason McCarthy. Constant lived up to his name in this one, by being a constant thorn in Macroom's side in the first half. His vision nearly allowed the first goal of the game, by playing through a superb ball on 23, but Macroom's Peter Burns was quick off the line to clear the danger. Killowen were limiting the home side to shots from distance, with Hegarty going closest. Macroom hit the front on 39, when Patrick Burns stayed onside and was more alert than the Killowen defence, raced clear and buried his shot past the onrushing Killowen keeper David Lynch. It was a vital goal just before half time, and what the home side slightly deserved.
The second half was end to end, with Killowen trying to find an equaliser, and Macroom using Darren and Patrick Burns pace on the break, supplied mainly by some excellent passing from Alan O'Connor and John Ronan. Some excellent wing play from Darren Burns on 60, in which he beat two men, including a sublime drag-back and nutmeg, allowed him to swing in a cross which Hegarty nearly met with a header. Abezoudhe Alaco's mazy run on 64 nearly got the equaliser but his shot was saved by Burns. Hegarty did get his goal on 69, when Patrick Burns swung in a ball, and following a slip from David Lynch in goal allowed Hegarty to stroke home from 6 yards to give Killowen a mountain to climb. The home side comfortably kept Killowen at the base of that mountain, and secured victory. Best for Macroom were Darren Burns, Alan O'Connor and Darragh Crowley. Best for Killowen were Abezoudhe Alaco, John McDonnell and Greg Constant.

To be fair to the referee it was a very tough game to control. It could have easily got out of hand with all the tackles flying in and scuffles but he did his job from that point of view. He did get the indirect free kick decision wrong in my opinion.
I couldn't really see if our centre half was offside for the goal or not from up the other side of the pitch so I can't give my opinion on that. Them decisions either go your way or they don't and in this case it went our way! Great finish though!
I agree with you, it would be great to have assistant refs on the line but I don't think there are enough refs there to dedicate 3 to a game. Towards the end of the season, in the games that are important, it would be a good decision for them to allocate additional refs as they do in the MSL, not just for the playoff promotion games. It all comes down to resources though and if they are not at their disposal there is not much they can do.
bout time leeds picked up a win in the league went to their other two games and could easily have won but just not enough in the tank...have to say great result to beat kanturk away their a top side and from what ive seen so far i think the prem a will go pretty much the same as last year...Can anyone tell me lads what has happened grattan saw them the weekend but looks like a different team, whats going on?
watch them at the start of the season againest leeside in o neill park.and the team was totally different than last sunday.i no its early but id say they might be in trouble if they dont sign players up....
"Winning isn't everything. Wanting to win is."
ya Holden i seen them against Leeside and they looked very decent, would love to know whats going on up there.
did they have any good players still there last Sunday??
Horse or Olachico could probably answer that aswell after playing them the week before??
What was the talk of Kinsale looseing so many players at the start of the year?? there flying it! 3 horse race id say between them Wilton and Leeside i think.
Good start to the league Scaffa!!
Is that the little guy Donaldinhio? He was very good in the Inter League Cup out in Casement in 2009. Big loss I'd say.
The horror tackle seems to be a rarer beast in general though or am I wrong?
Damien O Mahony is an excellent ref.
On the AUL panel announced - if I'm greedy, 2 others of ours could have had another look too!
I see some of the clubs who used the manager's policy of putting your players forward got rewarded. Nice one and best of luck.Maybe, they wouldnt have been seen otherwise.
Some seaside names missing - whats the story Shilts?
Some other names there who have yet to make heir seasonal debut in CSN.
Bella, Springfield were guests in Monard at the weekend and did not leave the best impression.
Our facilities are not much, but the four clubs out there are working together to do what we can with what we have and always working to improve them. I hate when fellas diss them. I always ask the question to myself - where those guys there when their team had what we have? Most times the answer is no.
one or two alright player on the left wing figo i think his name was wasnt bad in patches, and one of their midfielders didnt catch his name other than that not really.i said leeside would win it at the start but after seeing kinsale impressive start and playing againest wilton i think it will be between them..
"Winning isn't everything. Wanting to win is."
Cheers Ghost.......its been a great start hopefully we can keep it up, break this weekend so might catch up and watch some of the opposing teams
