Owl I seem to remember that Davy Keo always used to burn a much younger Guvnor for pace in training for years!! You remember him the fella who used to play in slow motion..

I think so. I don't think Greenmount have moved from the highest pitch in Murphy's Farm have they?

We should look to see if Kilreen now play home games at Kilreen Park and Dunbar play at Dunbar Park!!!

    - Just checked and Dunbar's home pitch on the fixtures is listed as Dunbar Park??? Have all clubs using Murphy's Farm renamed their pitch???

    Exclamation norrie news

    Hello gents.

Forgive me for not posting a report about the game Sunday but I was waiting an hoping those who either took part or watched would give an honest view of what they saw but Kingscorner put that to bed with his diving comment.

On the game it self I'l be honest an say I was pleased with the fact that we wernt left lacking in terms of the physcial side of things. But from a point of view of our use the use of the ball I was dissapointed.A big pitch suited our midfield an forwards an we didnt for me stretch Leesides defence on enough occasions. We looked threatening when we got our attacking players in one one situations but we didnt do it enough.I thought the game was played far to much in midfield,an it was too stop start.

Niggly fouls, every 30 seconds prevented the game from flowing.I have watched Leeside a good bit this season an I was surprised with the formation they played, considering they were they home team. Lets be honest 4/5/1 did make it harder for us to break Leeside down but it made it very hard for Leeside to creat anything up front.Im not expecting Leeside to agree with me but any chance they had came as a direct result of bad decisions made on our behalf and not because they created anything

A underhit back pass resulted in Lofty skyin the ball out for a corner which presented Leeside with a good headed oppertuinity. Our sweeper an keeper getting calls wrong an it ends up with the keeper with a foot outside the box with the ball in his hands.Good free kick again by Leeside that sailed just wide.An for me the worst an thankfully it didnt cost us the very last ball into the box by Leeside an one defender calls,an another nicks in ahead of him an the ball comes to Gettings on his own, squakey bum time an a bit of 6 yard ping pong for a split second an we broke away again only for the ref to blow the final whistle. All the above were school boy errors,an out of charcacter for a team how has 5 clean sheets from 8 league games.

I knew it was going to be a single goal would win it for either team and I told the players at half time that a little peice of magic or a set peice would be the difference. We got both an we didnt take them.Halla had a free dead center 20 yards out and Figo with a peice of sublime skill left the entire Leesdie defence for dead an set up Gouldie who knows only all to well the opertuinity that was missed. It was just one of thoes things an ya just have to get on with the game.Halla was a handful for Leeside all through the game an he had a couple of rockets on goal. The keeper save one well but the 2nd came at him so fast it hit his chest an was deflected just wide.

In the previous 3 games we havnt picked up a single yellow but in this one we got 3,2 of which were for desent,so Streetscene I agree we got envolved with the ref too much but I can also understand the players frustration. For me the ref let far to much go an then came down far to quick an hard on the few.Lets be honest an say it their was a lot at stake an both teams were well up for it.Its a mans game an both teams wanted to win,an both teams tackled hard. For all the talented players we have we have added a physcial edge to our game an when needed we use it,an Leeside were matched in this part of the game.

We wanted 3 points but ended up with 1,all things considered on the day we have to accept its a point gained. But we are dissapointed we didnt take the 3.

Oh ya Street,I loved your jumper

This is what surprised me most Littleman. I thought the Leeside attitude was very negative and no offense to you guys but i feel they paid ye too much respect. As the home team undefeated all year I would have expected them to have been much more positive and at least have played with two strikers. Johnny Barrett was nearly playing as a left full in the first half, a complete waste.

As for the diving comment that was ridiculous, there wasnt a single dive the entire game.

As for Grattan I thought they defended well in most places, their midfield played well but I think they were a little light up front though. I was shocked to see Johnnie Mac play as sweeper and i'm not sure he was entirely comfortable back there, I was surpirsed at this given that ye had that little guy (can't remember his name) on the bench who would normally play in that position.

    norrie news

Johnny Mac has been something of a revelation this season as a sweeper in fairness Pac.Sunday he may not have looked the part but he is thought very highly of by our center halfs an the rest of the squad an thats fine by me.May be he felt a bit nervous with so much riding on the game an made one or 2 dodgy decisions but hes new to the sweeper role an bar the odd hic/up Sunday he coped quite well.Damien Peelo is our normal sweeper an for me hes pure class but but hes just back from a tour of duty in Chad so he will have to wait his chance like everyone else.

Our front 2 were told to keep the Leeside full backs as near to their own goal as possible because it allowed our midield to push Halla/Gally an Figo on an I thought they put in a fantastic amount of work.Anything that was put up front was challanged,an the Leeside back line were well aware that they could take no chances because we chased everything.Barret didnt kick a ball because Gally was top class,I actually didnt even know they took him off.The odd time Barrett did break Figo or Goulding covered,so it just shows the work rate we have.Dont get me wrong I though the effort we put inot the game was fantastic, just if we had applied ourselves a bit more we could have won the game.I dont know who exactly played up front for Leeside because none of our back line actually man marked anyone. All the Leeside players seemed to be either in defence or midfield.Leeside are a decent team, tis just the game plan was based more on making sure we didnt score an played with a packed defence.I guess they just wanted to make sure they didnt lose first,an tryed to score on the break if possible 2nd.Cant blame um for that cause it worked but ya have to have the players to play that way an I dont think they have.

Yes Colin Bevan was on the panel that won the Oscar traynor last year and Fox was called up to play in a tournament as well (cant remember the tournament) Jason Forde is the winger you are on about!! Whether they should be on the panel or not is not my place to say!!

Oli might not, but I will!!

In the first place,we were disapointed that the 16/18 from the final werent called back for a look.

In my opinion, Fox is being punished for a miss near the end of the Tayto/Keane Cup final - a bit harsh. He is flying with 2 last week and 6 from midfield for the season.

Jason Forde is among 4 or 5 from our team hot in the last 2 in a half months, including against some of the current panel.

The Prem A league table is so tight we could be at the other end in a few weeks, so maybe the lads should have been given the chance while we are hot!!

I hit the reply button too quickly. Our club respects the AUL are in the quarter final and we would love to see the trophy being retained. Any representative side will produce opinion and ours is no different.

Just out of curiousity how long was Minty in charge of the Oscar Traynor team?? Its Niall O Regans first year and he was appointed late so maybe next year regardless of results etc there will be some changes to the panel - an idea for a friendly though - A squad of 18 selected by Niall (maybe 20 or however many allowed) v best of the rest (not selected for Nialls panel! ) Kind of a trial game of sorts!!

Olachico ur dead right in having plenty of mixed games and give fellas a chance. Jose ''Minty'' Mourinho was around for years, i wouldnt be he's biggest fan over the years to be honest but i will say last year he picked a team full of fellas with great attitudes and wanted to win and you could see he picked the best which he wasnt doing for awhile. With Regan coming in late taking over the team you would think he'd stick with most of the winning panel from last year. For instance the two centre halves that played last year one of them was the captain and your guy Bevan didnt start any games in the OT cup this year and were replaced with a new guy who didnt have a great review earlier in the forum when they played up in Mayfield. Also he has a few guys from Knockavilla cemented to the panel!! any surprise??

Welcome Donaldihno, great to see another club posting on here. Kanturk seem to be a progressive club, we (Killowen) played against Kanturk's B team in the county cup a couple of seasons ago and I was well impressed with the new pitch. That season we also played Kanturk's 1st team in the AOH cup at our place but lost 3-1.
