I was talking to one of the Westport lads last night and he said there is war going on between there a & b team for players and tensions were high between the managments.
The only extra cost is travelling to the Premier Division teams such as Dundalk, Derry and Drogheda. The other teams such as Salthill & Tullamore are in the same situation. This weekend would you perfer to be playing Erris or Tullamore Town? I think I would know the answer for most clubs in the Mayo League (no disrespect to Erris, just using them as an example for this weekend's fixtures.)

I was wondering when that would be noticed! Not our greatest hour in fairness, considering there were a good few ideas put forward for it, including a competition between local schools to come up with one for us! Er.... imitation is the highest form of flattery and we are all huge Notts County fans here at Fahy..

Calm down, ye are like dogs on leashes ready to pounce when someone goes down. Westport are due a bad patch.
Think the problem is Westport are reliant on 2 or 3 players who have scored 90% of their goals this season so they were bound to be found out sooner or later.
I still say they'll win the league though...
LOL, no disrespect to Snugboro but its easier for our "Journey men" to take a beating from Derry City. Still I do note we didn't throw the toys out of the pram like the 2 lads sent off for ye last night.
For your interest there Westside, I noted you tried to find the A Championship. The LOI website is where all the Eircom leagues are available not the Fai.ie website.
From there you will visibly see Celtic in the A Championship. I am trying to find out where Westport United are mentioned on the LOI site but I am having no joy.
Just to save you the bother ; http://lmgtfy.com/?q=www.loi.ie
Best concentrate on Erris away this weekend, the wheels could badly come off if you don't get 3 this weekend.

I am not having a go at westport here but I was at the game last night and they were well and truly beaten by a better team, the biggest disappointment was there players and management, when things were not going right it was the whole worlds fault,Dave Hoban was sent off when Snugboro were 3- 1 up so for anyone to say snugboro won cause wesport were reduced to 9 men after dessie was sent off is unfair to the boro lads. After all the boro dhad Stevie G sent off as well.Snugboro were well worth there victory,Im not trying to rub salt into wetport wounds but it could have been a lot more if the boro lads had there shooting boots on.I still believe that westport will win the league but they have to get there house in order and that includes thier management.
No i won`t waste my time on that mickey mouse site.
Everyone is sticking the knife in to westport at the moment but this is to be expected from you and your other cronies from c/bar.Ye all sound like a crowd who talk to each other on bebo, faceache and twitter as a sad bunch to me.
Come back at the seasons end when your "L.O.I. team" have nothing to show from their nomad league only a large bill from the bus company.
And all you do is whinge, whinge whinge,it s always someone elses fault when things go wrong for westport..If your club had the foresight to go into the A League you would not be talking the crap you are....By the way you still never answered any of my questions............All hot air
Any chance you might clarify why the L.O.I website is a "mickey mouse site"?
Its fun reading your jealous rants, but maybe a cup of hot sugary tea and a lie down is in order at this stage?
Your team are joint top of the Super League, a nice few honours gathered over the years, the players & management have worked hard and earned the respect of clubs the length and breath of Ireland as formidable opponents and yet you still insist on concentrating all your energies on rubbishing Castlebar Celtic.
I still reckon ye have enough to take the super league despite the last two results.
westside,
norm is right, just give up. you are getting slated left, right and centre, everyone can see that you are wrong but you.
you seriously need to get over this obsession you have with trying to run a bigger club (us) down. concentrate on getting your own club back on track as at the moment its going down the drain for ye lot.
and this thing about the loi website being 'mickey mouse,' can you please back up that statement??
great win for the 'boro last night, really opens up the league.
will dessie o'malley and hoban lad get 3 games seen as they were straight reds does anyone know?? they will definetley miss the trip to erris, automatic one match ban
I`m entitled to my opinion because i am right in what i am saying here.
I am not running your club down in general, just your ignorance in being sucked into the A league with promises of progress a long way down the line.If westport were given a choice of entering this vacuum i would be against it as junior soccer has more to offer in terms of competitions.
Westport will get their grounds sorted out in time as facilities don`t equal having to leave local football.
As for the league we will get back on track again with the injuries we have no other club would recover from.
i think we should end this debate, there is no point going on with it for any longer. westside has his opinion, fair enough and no offence, but i nor anyone else can seem to see where you are coming from with this opinion. i don't know why you don't think it is good for mayo to have a loi club. if the shoe was on the other foot, ye would be wished the best of luck
good luck in the super league, i like most other people still think ye have enough to win it, its just getting out of this sticky patch that ye are in

What utter rubbish. If ye were capable of entering a team in the A league ye would. The simple fact of the matter is a club of Westports size should easily have enough players to cope with a few injuries, but instead of building on their success of the past few years to develop a more solid youths structure, they instead decided to basically continue with more or less the same group of players at junior level for the past number of seasons. Now these players are needed but no strenght in dept as far as players go exist within the club. Maybe if some of yere players had not been played two matchs every weekend it would have eased yere injury list![]()
Rubbish talk keeps us all going, liking the way this forum is more lively now anyway, makes for interesting reading for the last 5 mins of work
This forum is for SL only lads so try and keep A LEAGUE talk to a different forum!
I think Erris will win this weekend. A Westport team without Scahill, Hoban, O'Malley and Horkan is very average? Erris at home too so would be expected to win if they are genuine title contenders.
Ballina probably expect to hammer us as they did to Celtic last week, looking forward to what will be a tough one. We might be contenders ourselves if we beat them![]()
LOL aww we have to feel sorry for you though, you have to be the first person on foot.ie bullied eh![]()
Still waiting to see why you think that www.loi.ie is a mickey mouse site?
Its facebook chief but then again maybe its you lack of friends which makes it pointless for you to be on it eh
Anyway back on topic, you not looking forward to Ballina then Fahy, you never know how that will go, I wouldn't be 1/2 suprised to see ye make it very tough for them. Good luck with it anyway.
