He really should get an Ireland call up.
Carsley definitely deserved to go. Shocking tackle. Actually hit him above the knee!
When Carsley went off Fahey went into his central, defensive role, and thats never going to be his game. Didn't really matter as both sides just bypassed midfield completely. Awful game to watch

He really should get an Ireland call up.
You've got no fans.
I've an open mind but certainly not on the basis of last night.
I'd be happy to see him (or anyone) take Miller's place in the squad but you wouldn't give anyone on the pitch an international call up on last night's performance bar Foley and Maik Taylor who, without a real save to make, showed why you need a commanding keeper to do the bread & butter stuff well. Hennessy totally lacked presence.
A manager would have been delighted. They pressed hard and fast all night giving Wolves no chance to do anything. At one stage Stephen Ward was under so much pressure he ran 25 yards back towards his own goal and played a panicky back pass straight between his CBs and goalkeeper, straight to Cameron Jerome. Fabregas couldn't have played a more dangerous pass! A manager's dream, a neutral's nightmare.
Edit: actually, for those determined to undermine Irealnd's performance in Bari against 10 men, Wolves were level at 0-0 before they got the man advantage, yet lost 2-0 and barely got a sniff of the Brum box after the sending off. It just illustrates how a well set up 10 man unit can cause real difficulties if they apply themselves correctly. Look at England against Brazil in 2002. Not exactly like with like but I think anyone who has watched football long enough understands the anomaly that a man advantage can be hard to exploit, especially against streetsmart teams like Italy. No wonder McLeish was delighted.

Yeah, you're right. A part of my brain automatically blots Carr from my consciouseness though. He looked totally at home in the heat of the battle last night, a very accomplished performance. He looks fit as a fiddle too.
Can't say I like him much but that wouldn't stop me picking him.
Only saw just before the goal & the second half & awful game to watch as Birmingham barely put two passes together.
Will Fahy start central midfield in next game with Carsley out?
Would have Carr back if it means he's in for McShane at right full.
Still think Foley is the way forward though and I hope he gets a run out in a friendly soon.
scores today in Birmingham defeat...
"James McFadden delivers the ball, Keith Fahey grabs a headed goal from close range"
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
Saw it, good header and did well to make the space ahead of his marker. He nearly scored with a right footed shot from 22 yards, cutting in from the left wing where he was playing.
A pity for Fahey (they even pronounced his name much better tonight) as to score the goal that gets your team promoted would be a great way to make your name.
St. Ledger was excellent in the bits I saw (most of second half). He missed a really good headed chance but his defending was composed and effective, though some refs may have penalised him for a push on Cameron Jerome inside the box. I think it was the correct decision as Jerome was backing into him just as illegally.
Brum's last game is a away to Reading. Tasty.
If Reading don't get promoted, will Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt ask to be transfer listed? Clearly both of them, in particular Doyle, are Premiership quality and would most likely easily start for at least ten Premiership teams every week if fit.
Get in there Fahey. Terrible goalkeeping.

Is Ciaran banned?!
What did he say.
His predictions on Fahey were bang on the money anyway...
Fair play to him and playing out of position most of the time but certainly getting important goals for them. Have not seen him week in week out to see how he is playing. But anytime I saw him for Pats he was a class act and stood out against Berlin and Elfsburg too.

He set up Kevin Phillips in what would have been one of the best assists I seen all season.
Just did it now. Great ball and great finish by Phillips.

Fats promoted to the Premiership.
Call up soon?
